Recently purchased a truck from aloha auto depot. After test driving, I noticed 2 things: a leak in the intercooler boot, and tire rubbing. Otherwise I enjoyed the truck. I made a deal with them that I’ll take the truck if they repair/replace the damaged boot, and trim the bumper to clear the tires. They agreed all would be fixed and expedited. I was told the truck would be ready in 2 days. A few days later, still no call, so I call them for an update, they say “oh sorry , you need to call our mechanic shop”, so I did. The shop said there were plenty of other customers in front of me so I’d need to wait. After explaining the sales team promise, and arguing for a while, they finally put my truck as priority. A couple days later I got a call saying my truck is ready. I show up and they pull the truck around and sure enough there is tire rubbing. I explain to the sales manager the deal was to fix this, he tells me they did trim, so I look under the truck and it looks like a blind guy took a hacksaw to it. (Luckily they didn’t cut very much off). I looked at the damaged boot and it looked like it was new. So I decided to just cut my losses and take the truck to fix the tire rubbing on my own. After driving for a month I noticed a bunch of CEL for vacuum and boost leaks came on. I tried texting and calling the sales team but kept getting the runaround. So I ended up looking hard at the truck. After replacing a few parts, I noticed something strange about the “new boot” they “replaced”. I noticed the took the upper boot and replaced the damaged boot with that and made a half ass concoction where that boot was to hide the fact that they didn’t buy a new boot to replace it. In the photos you can see the blue boot is the stock boot they took from the upper hose and cleaned to make it look new. And the other pieces of black rubber and pvc pipe. YES, PIECES OF RUBBER AND PVC PIPE. They strapped together to “fix/hide” the issue. The other picture is my repair with brand new $30 black boots. Ridiculous work and service by ALOHA AUTO DEPOT. They made a promise and did not keep their end of it.

I went to Aloha Auto on Sunday this week and they let me know that they are currently between locations in Kalihi and kakaako. It is a transition period so they explained that it is by appointment only, and they would bring the car (I wanted to see) to my appointment the next day. I got multiple confirmation texts and calls, which seemed a little excessive for making an appointment the day before, but at least I knew for sure that they would be ready for my time. When we got there, we were greeted right away and started talking with Jesse. Our sales person Jesse was very nice and helpful. He took my drivers license photo and let us take the car for a spin. When it came to making a deal, he was very responsive to my requests so we were able to settle on a very reasonable number, since the car only had one key, and a couple dings and scratches I wanted fixed. For reference, I bought a 2016 BMW convertible, and it already had a good pricing. They gave me the deal I had asked for, as I already had gotten pre-approved for money from my bank. On top of that… The dealership sent in for my tags (registration was to expire at the end of the month, so there’s $350-$400 I would have had to spend) and offered me the phone number for their key guy, so I wouldn’t have to get a fob made at BMW (another $500+). Also, while we were there, a woman came in and was returning a rental car. One of the dealers then drove her to the airport. I thought that was great! She said the price was very good, about $350 for the week with airport pickup and drop-off. I might look into using that for visitors that come stay with me. Before we left, one of the guys went to put a little gas in the car for us, since it was almost empty. We signed paperwork and were in and out in less than 2 hours. Probably closer to an hour. Very quick process, and nice people. I would definitely go to see them again!

BEWARE Mainland buyers!! I recently purchased a diesel BMW X5 from Aloha Auto Depot as an out-of-state buyer, and it has been the worst car-buying experience of my life. I feel completely cheated and misled. The salesperson, "Uncle Sam," presented a BMW dealership inspection report stating the vehicle had no issues. As this was my first time buying from Hawaii (but not my first out-of-state purchase), I trusted this report. That was a massive mistake. Upon delivery to the mainland, the first red flag was the car's condition—it hadn't even been vacuumed, let alone detailed, showing a complete lack of care. Attached pictures are from the delivery date. The real problems emerged when I started driving. I immediately felt a power issue. I took it to my local BMW dealership, who found critical, undisclosed mechanical failures: a faulty transfer case that needs replacement and a leak in the rear of the valve cover. None of these major issues were mentioned in the "clean" inspection report provided by Aloha Auto Depot. When I tried to address these issues, "Uncle Sam" completely ghosted me. He stopped taking my calls and responding to my messages, leaving me with a broken car and mounting repair bills. WARNING TO MAINLAND BUYERS: If you see a car you like in Hawaii, DO NOT rely on their inspection reports. I was shown a fake document. You MUST fly out to inspect the vehicle personally or hire a truly independent third-party inspector. I learned this the hard way because I couldn't find a specific model on the mainland. I am now seeking legal help to recover the costs of these repairs. Save yourself the immense hassle and financial burden—look elsewhere. This dealership is not trustworthy.

I worked with Keala for my car purchase. I communicated with him electronically for several weeks before I arrived to finalize the purchase of my car on July 9th. Despite me having an appointment, the car wasn’t ready (he was an hour late, the car wasn’t on the lot, car hadn’t been cleaned, etc). I asked that 3 repairs be included in the contract: fix the key FOB, get a functioning spare tire, and repair the hole in the roof. I also added to the contract the warranty they offer through a 3rd party. A month later, my car was still not ready. Finally, Keala told me that the key FOB was repaired, but he had not gotten a spare tire yet or coordinated to repair the hole in the roof. Two weeks later he told me that the cost of the roof repair was too expensive, and would take $500 off my purchase price instead, which I agreed to. I never signed anything to formalize the agreement, but I was okay with that plan. In the middle of August, he said I could come pick up my vehicle and he would let me know when I could come pick up my spare tire. I asked him if I needed to do anything to for the extended warranty since I was never asked to fill out anything for that. He didn’t have a good answer, just stalled for about 2 weeks and said he was “working on it”.

I continued to message him in the following few weeks. He eventually sent me a form to sign for the warranty, but I asked him to change the start date on it to the day I picked up the car, not the purchase date, and then I would sign it. He never sent it back to me to sign, or acknowledged my response to him in any way. I got a letter in the mail from the warranty company, with the wrong date on it, the first week of September. My original intent was to drive the car for 60 days, and if there weren’t any issues, cancel the policy and get a refund. I can no longer do that- I didn’t have the car for the first 30 days, and he never got around to submitting the forms until my 60 days were up (without my signature apparently).

Additionally, I got a call in September from the dealership saying I missed an appointment to come complete title paperwork. This was the first I'd heard of this, I assumed I signed all of the required paperwork in July, and Keala never reached out to tell me there were additional forms needed. The woman that called me also informed me that they never submitted the registration forms. I asked what the plan was, since I had been given the car with expired tags and no temporary tags. She informed me that I should've been given a temp tag, and that the registration had been expired for a while, so she didn’t know why the forms weren’t submitted.

I bought this car over 2 months ago, I still do not have a spare tire, the warranty is still messed up, I do not have a title for the car, I do not have a valid registration- nor has one been submitted, and I never signed an addendum formalizing the agreement to reduce the cost by $500 instead of repairing the roof. Attempts to work with Keala have been fruitless, he is either nonresponsive, evasive, or stalls. If I had known what a disaster the car buying experience would be (and continues to be), I never would have bought a...

I reached out to aloha auto depot looking for a SAFE&RELIABLE vehicle for my family. I knew I was in a tight spot because my credit is crap(I'm sure they will use this in their reply) I told them simply I was looking for an suv or van, and just needed to get approved. I was pleased when I received the text that they had an approval on a super low mileage vehicle. We went and looked at it and test drove it. Looked beautiful under the hood, clean inside and out. A few cosmetic things but we didn't care. Now test drives are great but they only alert you to problems that are severe right? U feel out the vehicle. We signed and drove it home. Two days later there's a shudder. I reach out and I'm furious I get told that they are unaware of any issues with the vehicle. At this point I don't trust them so we opt to have our very trustworthy mechanic look at it. It did take him a couple weeks as, well, life right? So mechanic comes and runs diagnostics, checks fluids, looks over the entire vehicle. Fluids were all low and or disgusting(meaning they hadn't been touched) codes were being pulled. Now we were told and I quote "we do everything to get the cars front line ready" no you dont!!! Now will they get you financed? More than likely... will you get letters from lenders on cars you would 100% never buy? Yup ( a mini Cooper is not an suv or van just saying) don't get me wrong I'm thankful they got me approved and found a vehicle, but that does me no good if it's a pos! When I asked for owner info I was told they don't give that out. The responses from the dealership were fast up until I had my mechanic take a look. Then all of a sudden ghost, like a bad date! If you got this far, cool. I'm sure some things will be assumed and yes I am partly at fault here for being trusting I mean the vehicle had super low miles so I honestly didn't do as good at checking as I would with a higher mile vehicle(lesson learned!!) If you need an approval and you see a vehicle you like from them I'd say do your due diligence and bring it to your mechanic before you sign because after some deep digging I found I am NOT THE ONLY ONE who got swindled here. Not sure how people who do that sleep at night but greed is a powerful thing. I truly hope I am there to see karma come. Messing with people's safety, putting people into a financial burden knowingly.. disgusting!!

Short story long- You will probably get financed with them so if in a bind because credit sucks like mine, go see them. But keep in mind you might be paying on a paperweight. Take the car to get checked before you sign because holy sketch! Don't expect them to fix the problems they definitely knew about. Buy at own risk because some people CLEARLY don't care if they hurt your...

I decided to start looking for a car (my first car) that I'll be using to get to work since in my opinion during these days where there's pandemic happening it's too risky to take the public transportation and I've been riding the bus for 6 years straight and I know what are the things you see and encouter while riding the bus. So yesterday my parent's and I decided to spend the whole day looking for the right car for me, we were looking for a budget friendly and at the same a great condition car engine/interior/exterior. We visited six pre-owned car dealership and we were at the point where we were so exhausted from driving and walking around and we wanted to finally go home. Then I suddenly saw Aloha Auto Depot on Google and asked my parents if we can check one more dealership and my family was like "yeah sure!" even though I can see on their faces that they're already tired. So we went there and so far people were pretty welcoming and accommodating, employees were smiling and greeting customers then they introduced Jesse T. the salesman who helped us. He gave us super great customer service! He gave us a super great customer server that most of the other dealership salesperson wasn't able to give us. Because in most other dealership they profile you, they will even look at you from head to toe. I've been working in retail for 6 years as well so I know what great, good and bad customer service looks like and like what I just said Jesse gave us a super great customer service. I was able to find a very nice looking car, very clean and sleek inside and out and the engine was in perfect condition, less than 100k miles, clean title and at the same time within our price range. My family and I drove it for a test and they were very impressed with the car and you can see their faces from very tired to very lively! lol! Jesse and the team even let us have a discount too! I also asked our car mechanic friend to come check the car the day after and he said the car is in great condition and it's was very good deal! Yo this place is the bomb! Can't go wrong with this place I'm pretty sure. If you're planning to get your first car and at the same time doesn't wanna get your wallet destroyed then you should definitely check this place out. They have cars and prices for every situation you could possibly be. Keep up the great work guys! I hope you guys become the number 1 pre-owned car dealership soon or...
