First time at Pitch on Dec 28 around 9pm for a late dinner and a couple drinks. We sat at the bar for convenience, but bartender barely acknowledged us even though there was only one other guy sitting at the bar. He seemed cool to familiar faces, but snobby to us. Either his situation awareness is horrible or he was intentionally ignoring us for some reason. I suppose we weren’t hip enough for his shallowness. Finally got his attention for a drink even though I already had a bad taste in my mouth, should have pulled chocks. When we finally got our first drink there was way too much head as if he didn’t have the time or patience for a proper pour. I figured we’d warm up to each other so I asked if the kitchen was still open. He replied that it was, but with not much more help. The menu can be obtained online, but no prices and you can’t place an order to avoid this disgruntled clown. He took our order, but the body language implied he didn’t care to give us the time of day. I suppose the burger was good, but this guy ruined it with his diva attitude. It took quite some time to order another beer to wash down the burger, even though I asked him when he was right in front of us washing or moving cups around. I’m sure he heard me since my dad can and he didn’t have his hearing aids on. My old man had to really raise his voice to get the bartenders attention When he walked up he asked if he wanted two of the same beers without even looking at me and again he poured at least a 1.5” head of foam. We scuffed down the beer anxious to get out of there. And again we had work to get his attention. i literally had to slam my hand on the counter for him to acknowledge us. I explained to this 40 some year old kid that this was the worst service I’ve ever had and left him with a zero tip. I have never left a zero tip, even when service was not great, but this was absolutely horrible. if I could I would rate this at a negative 5 stars...
Read moreI used to have high praises for this place considering I've been here SO many times for happy hour, dinner, late night and have always had a great experience. Reasonably priced drinks, great food, and above all great music. I've also pretty much came with the same group of friends every time, and honestly we're pretty much the only black people that come here that we've seen, especially on weekend nights. So my friend made a reservation for her birthday for 8 people on a Friday night for 9:15pm, and she reserved a table in the main bar area inside. We got there at 9pm, 15 minutes early so we can make sure there's no issues. They had the nerve to "look" for a table and wanted to put us outside with zero music, which the point of RESERVING the main bar inside was to hear the music. Then they put us inside by the sushi bar in the BACK with no music. There were tables available inside, but every time that was brought up, they said that they were reserved. Well, that's funny because we literally reserved the inside. Some employees told us they double booked, some didn't believe we had a reservation, and I guess the manager said a reservation was a REQUEST, but telling us that other folks had tables reserved. LOL! And then they literally sat a big party inside that didn't have a reservation, but looks like they just knew the employees. So sad to say that they treated us different, and treated us like walk ins. And got the nerve to play hip hop music. Very disappointed at this establishment that we've spent plenty of money at and I know they've seen our faces. Sad to say I wont be back, they don't want us in...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would! I visited Pitch on the eve of my birthday to celebrate with friends. I had reservations for the inside seating area at 9:15 pm. When we arrived at 9:00 pm to check in, we were told we had to either sit outside or at the sushi bar, despite having booked a table in the main area, where there were three available tables.
The manager, Adam, informed us that they had double-booked our reservation and that those tables were reserved for other parties arriving later. When I expressed my preference to sit inside as it was raining, and not at the sushi bar due to its layout, Adam rudely stated that if we didn’t accept these options, he couldn’t do anything else and walked off.
As we were discussing our options, another group arrived without a reservation and were seated in the main area where we were told tables were reserved. When we pointed this out, the staff claimed that group had a reservation, but my friend confirmed they did not.
Feeling upset and discriminated against, I asked Adam for the corporate number, which he provided rudely. This experience ruined my 23rd birthday celebration. Pitch’s audience appears predominantly Asian and Caucasian, whereas my friends and I are African American. We felt marginalized by being offered only seating outside in the rain or at the back corner of the bar.
As an active-duty officer in the U.S. Army stationed on this island, I was looking forward to a special evening with friends. Fortunately, we found a warm welcome at the Great Gatsby afterward. This incident at Pitch was incredibly disheartening and...
