9Bar HNL — Restaurant in Honolulu

This was my first time trying out 9Bar HNL, and I gotta say this might be my new favorite coffee place.

I got myself a 12oz latte as usual and also decided to get a chocolate chip cookie. I had a short conversation with the barista, who told me they use a medium roast blend. The latte had a nice smooth and silky texture, and the temperature was perfect for drinking. Sadly I did not have my friend with me to discuss flavor profiles. I’ll have to bring him here next time to hone in on the flavor compositions. All I can say for now is that I enjoyed drinking this cup of coffee.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the exterior and interior; I was preoccupied with wanting coffee. But from what I remember, there is some outdoor seating, and inside, they have delicious baked treats and some merchandise. I noticed that if you buy beans, you’ll get an 8 oz drink on the house. They also had some discounted baked treats from the day prior.

This is my favorite coffee bar in Honolulu! I work at this place at least once a week. They are the only coffee bar that I have found in Honolulu that does a proper latte, cappuccino and mocha! They are authentic Italian coffee drinks! Not just steamed milk in a cup! Best of all they serve you for here drinks in real mugs and glasses. They just need to get real plates and bowls. The food here is good too. I love the Cali Bowl- like a breakfast burrito bowl with a perfect poached egg, YUM! The burritos are good too. The scones are massive and not sweet which I like. They have awesome mochi bars and I just tried a lilikoi float with condensed milk gelato- best ever for a treat! This place is crowed on the weekends, as it should be. But I always find a table to work at during the week (free internet)....

Great little spot for hearty cookies and scones, coffee shop drinks and simple but quality brunch items. I started with a chocolate chip walnut cookie which was supple, nutty and touched with just the right dose of sweetness. The best I've had in Hawaii! Followed it with a Cali Bowl, a small looking but very filling meal of whole baby potatoes, thick crispy bacon, poached egg, sour cream, guacamole, and a side serving of nicely balanced red salsa. The presentation was brilliantly simple, yet artfully organized, and the pure flavors and spot on textures made my morning complete.
