First of all Zulma needs to get over herself and stop kissing the owners rear. This talk about "stable" and "status" is a joke. It is a review about the store and peoples experience which I am sure it is different for all. This cute little store has a variety of things if you want to get it quickly and not wait for Amazon or other online purchases. Certain things are expensive but of course it is... this is Hawaii. They have a variety of dried chilies for salsa making which is nice. Just make sure to take your own bag because they charge 25 cents for each paper bag they give you. If you don't mind paying them it's no biggie. I am definitely considering being a regular customer and I am sure the owner is nice which I have not met, but if I have to kiss the owners rear like Zulma does and not be able to keep business and personal life separate then I'll just keep my distance. Aloha

Update: I have found certain things at times super market (los pericos tostadas), foodland, safeway ( chorizo de rez ) that are a lot cheaper than this little store but still would consider coming here for a...

Visited yesterday 09/26. I got pulparindo original bars (1 box) and PulparinDOTS Mango (1box and do not cough while you eat these mango Dots or you will be in hell! You've been warned!), Hot Cheetos con Limon (aren't sold on island I looked everywhere), Bubaloo chicle (gum for my local bf and he loved them), and individual sold candies also that bf picked out. The new owner/management/vibe is more friendly than the previous older MX woman. I'm the first generation U.S. born. My parents are Mexican immigrants. So I understand the attitude, trust me. But I also have my own business and know that you need to be pleasant and not be short with ppl every chance you get. As a MX female, I must make extra effort, and ppl say I'm lovely business-wise. Anyway, the two Pulparindo boxes were $15 total (not terrible considering Hawaii. I'm from T.X., so it's hard not to compare). We'll be back and I hope the Sabritones (flour) chicha's AND pink bag Churromais come back. I'm sad they didn't have 'em yesterday! con...

NEW OWNERS ARE WONDERFUL. I've been a long time customer of this mercado. My frequent visits became less and less because, as much as I adored the products, I just got tired of leaving there feeling like I'd just visited my mean relatives. Today, my kids and I walked in and it immediately felt like HOME. I couldn't stop smiling! The vibe is completely different and you feel at peace when you walk in now. There is a new, sweet couple who owns the place. I got to meet them both and they were SO kind, helpful, and patient. The wife was at the front counter and her smile makes you feel good.. if you were a customer before and got tired of the previous owner, PLEASE give this place another shot now. You can tell, and FEEL, that the new owners truly care about the community and I'm so excited for their plans for the store. We bought tons of goodies to bring home - fresh salsa, fresh tortillas, candies, drinks, and stuff for the house. I'm so grateful a kind, local family is keeping this small...

Moved from San Francisco to Hawaii and was missing SF's local mexican stores and botanicas. Went to google to look up a "mexican store near me" and found them ❤️. I got so happy and excited that they have a Santa Muerte candles, herbs, sages, incense and other spiritual candles. Hope they had more selections tho but that's fine ❤️ I requested to order some more candles and the owner was really nice. I might just be your #1 customer! ❤️❤️❤️

Love love love this place. So many Hispanic items you can't find anywhere else on island, candies, canned goods, chili's, fresh tortillas and soooo much more. They are a bit pricey on some items but they are locally owned and I'm sure the cost is to cover their overhead so, in my opinion, worth every penny. Shop local! My mouth is watering just thinking of my Tama-Roca and saladitos.

Alejandro the new owner was really helpful with recommendations and tips on how to prepare the Hispanic dish I wanted. Great Customer Service!! By far the best place to buy if you are thinking about preparing a Hispanic dish. Wish me luck, I’m preparing Pastor tacos
