I was just here in August and LOVED IT.
Great location in the heart of Waikiki. The beach is 2 short blocks away. If you can't walk the 100 yds, you probably shouldn't swim either. Check out the wood fired pizza across the street. There is a local health food place just outside the door with delicious, freshly made, food for like cheap. Hy's, the best steak house in the islands, is just downstairs. All the other eateries and the nightlife are a stones throw away. I recommend noodles at Marukame. There are always long lines but hey, it's a great place.
Busses both East and West run on Kuhio right outside the door. You can get to Hanauma Bay, Sea Life Park in one direction. Or to Pearl Harbor and the North Shore in the other. Ala Moana Shopping Center is walkable but there are multiple busses every few minutes that will get you there in 10 minutes. And there is a bus straight to the University of Hawaii.
The site managers, Sherri and Curtis, are helpful and really friendly. The rooms are perfect for 2-3 people. The WPH is a friendly, well run, well kept local secret. Hawaii at it's best at a...
Read moreI rent/live in a unit in the building and have had so many issues with the staff- parking, having guests over, mail, and most recently not being able to get things fixed. The light right in front of my unit window to my bedroom is flickering like a strobe light. I’ve asked for this to be fixed for 3 plus days both in person and via email to fix a light bulb. I offered to take care of it myself but was told not to. I was then told they would “get to it when they can”. Half of the time the staff is too busy talking story with the valet people..
Ever since the building staff harassed me about my service animal I feel like they have purposely ignored any requests and have been unnecessarily rude. Every interaction with the staff is stupidly contentious and...
Read moreI will have to agree with the other 2 reviews concerning some of the staff. They can be very rude and always don’t have time to even answer a question. It could be a racist thing. Being white in Hawaii is not very popular with the local people. Which after studying the history of the islands it’s no wonder why they have issues with white people. Rich White people essentially stole these islands with help of the U. S. Government and its military. That said it could have been worse if we had lost World War II to the Japanese. They were brutal under the Emperor’s rule. Just ask the Chinese and Korean's who hate the Japanese to this day for what they did to them...
