My mother-in-law lives in the Hood River area so when we visit we bring the kids to this park fairly often. Words can't describe really how awesome this place is because the structure itself is a work of art. There are so many different components and stuff to climb and slide and do other things with that it's hard for children to get bored.
They even have a littler kids area so you don't have to worry about them having to share space with the big kids and getting ran over. Seriously the only negative I can even think of is that parking is negligible and the spaces that are there are very tiny and not built for family vehicles. I won't take a star away from that though because the park itself is so freaking amazing.
Next time I go I'll take some photos and add to the listing but you can look already and see how cool it is. It's not exactly in a major metropolis but if you're in the gorge and near the Hood River area swing by and you won't be disappointed especially if you...
Read moreThis playground exceeded our expectations! We actually visited after snowfall and still enjoyed the features. We weren’t able to play on everything, but with our boots and jackets on, we were able to roam the large structures and even slide down a few enclosed tube slides.
The restrooms were out of order, but we didn’t need to use them. They had a portable potty available if needed.
I loved that each table, bench, or piece of the playground were adorned with plaques of those who donated or wished to donate in memory of someone. There is a real sense of community here. So much so, there is a small book library installed near the parking lot. You may donate or leave a book in it.
The whole experience brought our family joy. We watched some children riding sleds on a small hill to the left of park and it looked like so much fun.
The parking lot is on the smaller side, but looks like it can hold...
Read moreWe love this park. It's so spacious, with lots of different slides, climbing activities, swings, and (a favorite for us) a merry go round. There are restrooms and tables so ypu can make a day of visiting the park. Although there are slopes in this park not a single square foot is wasted. There is a toddler play area (ages 2-5 tho my 1.5 year old does just fine) with lots of movable toy pieces and a couple slide options, plus some miniature versions of climbing activities that are featured in the "big" kids area so your little ones won't feel left out. One of the biggest highlights of this park for our family is a swing that allows you to put your small child in it, facing you, and has a seat for your tp actually swing with them. You won't regret visiting...
