Championship Park has been a favorite spot of mine for a number of years. For being directly adjacent to downtown Houston it is surprisingly peaceful. If you are interested in exploring some of Houston's past I strongly recommend visiting. The old and historic Willow Street Pump Station (The old red brick building with two smoke stacks.) is right next to the park. Built around 1903, this pump station is one of the few remaining structures from old Houston. Regardless of why you visit there are also nice views of the Houston skyline from here.

I like this park because it’s soo peaceful and it’s directly connected to the Buffalo Bayou, and a bike trail. The reason I didn’t give it a five star is because all of the homeless people who are on the trail. Note they will not bother you or ask for money but it’s just a sad site to see. Also across the bayou is all the county jails and courthouses. I’ll update this review with pictures so you can see what I’m...

Since they have moved out the squatters this park has really come into its own. I enjoy the peace and quiet, even with it's close proximity to the freeway. On a beautiful clear spring day it is perfect for a picnic, with the Houston skyline in the background. Or just to grab some solitude from the city to get outside and...
