I’ve never ran into any issues until I had to cancel my account. I knew it could only be done in person or by certified mail. Nowhere on the website does it state what needs to be on the cancellation letter or that specific information even needs to be entailed. So I decided to call and get all of the information that was required over the phone. That’s when I found out that I did in fact need specific information that needed to be noted on the cancellation letter before submitting it. When I called I noticed that I was speaking to someone new or someone that just didn’t know anything about the cancellation process. I could hear that person asking someone else what I had just asked him. I finally confirm the address with him because I thought maybe it would need to be sent to a central location of some sort. I gave him the address for verification purposes, and I even heard him repeat it to whoever he was talking to and heard them saying “yes where else would she send it”. Funny thing is that a week later it was returned to the sender’s address... Call to find out what’s going on and they tell me that I got the ZIP code wrong! They explain that Google has a different ZIP Code listed for their facility and therefore that’s why it was returned to me. This was so frustrating to me considering I literally read out loud the address completely to them a week prior... I am upset because I paid for certified mail, they knew that the ZIP Code was incorrect, and they’ve obviously done nothing about it. I’ve always enjoyed going to planet fitness, and I am only canceling with them because there is no longer one near me. If I try to drive to them to cancel, it would be a two hour round-trip. It looks like that’s what I’m going to have to do. My thing is, don’t offer your customers the option to mail in a letter if you know that it will be sent back.
By the way guys, the actual zip code is...
Read moreBy far the best gym I've ever been a member of. Only $10/month or $20 for VIP membership which includes spa-like amenities including tanning beds, full body collagen lamps, hydro massage beds and massage chairs. Also VIP membership includes visits to any Planet Fitness across the nation, which is awesome for someone who travels a lot like I do.
There's super cute and up lifting little words and sayings all over the walls and equipment. "PF = No Critics," "No Gymtimidation." Stuff like that, which can make the place feel a lot less cold and more welcoming than your average LA or 24/h Fitness. They also have something they call PE@PF where you can get free consultations with trainers and training sessions, one-on-one and in group. Or you can even just get together and make a workout plan if you prefer to have more of a solo workout.
They also have a PF app that you can record your workouts on, watch how-to videos to learn how to use the equipment, book training sessions, find different locations, stuff like that.
For VIP membership you do need to sign a year long contract, and if you want to terminate that contract you have to pay $50. There's also a $100 sign up fee (can't remember if that related only to VIP membership or not) but when I signed up it was only $10 and when I asked why it was on discount the girl signing me up said something about how they're always throwing random discounts at them for that sign-up fee and when I signed up it had just went up from $1 to $10.
My lone complaint is that they don't have a pool or sauna like a lot of other big gyms have. But the price and spa amenities more than make up for it...
Read moreDon't go to this location! New Managing people are untrained and not good in service. Fondren is better! Old people moved to work there.
I'm black card for 4yrs and this planet fitness is not the best in town, just big than most. Just the old price and contract has kept with them. Otherwise I would have switched from Sharptown location long ago. Currently just go to fondren and use as I like and have positive relations.
During peak times they have more than they can handle customers and no peak times the managing people are not working/cleaning and just standing chit chatting behind the reception.
1 star because, well they they treated me and the guest allowed on blackcard disrespectfully at the signing. Some new girl and the manager Chris were explaining the rules for using new policies, when u bring a guest and asked for amenities acces, the same way they give to new customers. Because guest genuinely shared interest to look through amenities.
They explained new management doesn't allow would like to enforce ,by not permitting amenities, wasted 10mins of my time argued about policies. Forgot he has a new customer awaiting and seeing how they treat!! Above all he asked me if I would like to cancel membership!?
4years I am paying for healthy body and mind and some poor services just decide to take away the peace.
Manage the once which you have first properly!! Get rid of untrained souls, who are just following a job without...
