My first visit was on a Tuesday morning, about 8:30, and the restaurant only had 1 other table seated. I was in a bit of a hurry, so this seemed like a plus to me. I ordered 2 ham and egg tacos with their homemade tortillas & asked for fresh diced jalapenos to be added. I also ordered 4 tacos to go. I mentioned I was in a hurry and asked if there was any way to rush the order. The server smiled and said no problem. The 2 tacos I ordered to eat at the restaurant came out within minutes, and the to-go ones came before I finished eating the first two. The tacos were larger than expected & delicious. Their green sauce is delicious, I would highly recommend putting it on your tacos, but it is a little spicy, so be careful if you don't want your food too hot. I'll return here for sure.

I ordered the Fajita Ranchera and it was really good, the meat was juicy and tender. My only complaint is I reviewed my receipt when I got home and noticed they charged me for both the tea and the lemonade even though I sent the tea back because it had a weird taste ( not sure if it was the tea or the sugar in the glass canister) and I was charged $1 for something but did not know what for..... Other than that I have no complaints. The green sauce was soooooo delicious, it is hard to find a good mexican restaurant with good green sauce.

Ordered Alambres...shish kabobs. They were so over cooked...burned...that it was difficult to identify the different parts. It took a long time for the meal to come out and I hadn't eaten all day, so I did eat the one. The meat - beef and bacon - were tough and difficult to chew. If the waitress had ever come back to ask me about the meal, to check on my drink that never got refilled, perhaps it could have been addressed. It was NOT busy, only two tables and two waitresses. I used to love this restaurant. This is their third strike.

When reviewing Taquerias Arandas, it's essential to understand that this restaurant chain primarily caters to the lower economic sector of the Hispanic community in Texas. It does not aim to attract a broader audience, nor does it aspire to offer fine dining. The Gessner Road location I visited is relatively small compared to other branches.

From a purely restaurant industry perspective, it’s evident that the Arandas organization has yet to recognize the importance of maintaining high cleanliness standards. Finding a clean table was a challenge, as every surface I touched was either sticky or hadn't been properly cleaned since the last customer.

The service was casual and cordial, but there were some puzzling inconsistencies. For instance, when I requested a small portion of Menudo, which is listed on the menu, I was informed that smaller portions are only available on weekends. This policy seems designed to push patrons into spending more, rather than offering them the flexibility they might prefer. Additionally, if you opt for corn tortillas made in-house, be prepared to pay an extra dollar per tortilla.

The food quality was passable, keeping in mind that this establishment does not aim to offer fine dining, which naturally affects the quality of ingredients used. If you’re seeking a fine Mexican dining experience, this is not the place for you.

Pricing at Arandas is steep considering the food quality, cleanliness, and level of service provided. The ambiance also leaves much to be desired. The music is played at a volume that drowns out normal conversation rather than enhancing the dining experience. Moreover, the presence of flies around the table is a significant nuisance, contributing to an overall unpleasant environment.

To reiterate, Arandas is not a fine dining establishment and should not be evaluated against the same standards as mainstream restaurants in Houston. This review is, therefore, an opinion based on the specific business model of the...

Reason being why we only come here is for the food because as for it, it is always DELICIOUS.. But as for the services that are given from afternoon waitresses let me just say it’s very poor that right their I can honestly give them 5 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 down they are not so attentive more than once thru our visits in the past we have had bad experiences from being over charged on tips because they have taken it upon themselves to charge it on their own to having to raise our hands to be seen other wise they are all by the register talking with the men customers that are their.. I feel like maybe on our next visit I should just sit right in front of the register and maybe only then we might get lucky with their attention.. As a waitress a customer shouldn’t have to be asking for a refill weather it’s on water or soda or ANYTHING in general.. As for the waitresses they really are far from ever giving any good service. I always leave my tips depending on my services that I receive from them, so yea I pretty much never leave more than what I don’t get in return.. Only ones I truly give hands up 🙌🏻🙌🏻 and props to Are the COOKS.. Because their food has always been A-1...

First of all we brought my daughter for her birthday breakfast. We ordered our drinks and I asked for a cup of water. Everyone got their drinks and never got the water. Then we ordered our food. Food came the kids food was correct except the baby’s, my wife’s food and mine were not correct. My wife ordered huevos rancheros over easy, eggs were WELL done. I ordered all flour tacos and got some corn. I ordered potatoes and egg for the baby not a plate and not a taco. When I told the waitress she said she couldn’t take it back because it was already served. Ok I left it alone. My wife asked to speak to the manager they took the baby’s plate off the ticket. He was also going to remake my wife’s plate but she decided she didn’t want after she was almost done with the one they brought to begin with. And to top it off we had obviously decided not to tip due to bad service and the waitress having a bad attitude. And we get the ticket and the tip was already included in our ticket. Worst experience ever!! Food was good but service wasn’t. Never coming...
