Spent $20 on a cake. Roads where closed for some odd reason. Cake was good. I was in a car without a/c for roughly 45 min. Worth the wait. But I got sick because of the rain.
Website doesn’t state $20 cakes, but they had a couple $20 cakes when I got there. The lady was chill, relaxed, and helpful to an extent. She knew better Spanish than I. I like this bakery. Been going here since I was I was a twat.
The vives outside the place are to be interpreted, since it’s a busy area with lots of traffic. I won’t do ‘anything’ for a cake, but it was for a great persons birthday. So the awful unorganized and overly organized road closure was worth the experience. Lots of views from the other great bothered people waiting to move 10ft in a traffic-ted area. Anyways once I was out it looked like the road was cleared.
Their website is very savvy but not very interactive. Just show up in person and dig their vive. I was exhausted but I got the cake.
It’s a place to let your children and abuelitas go to. But won’t do that. They have their ‘Taqueria Arandas’ for that.
It is what it is.
Took a date there once. And that’s all the info in this place. Is it worth it? It’s ok. Can always be better.
Thank you ‘Angie’ for the helpful interaction and tank ton to the lady that pointed out the...
Read moreLocated in seedy neighborhood. Uniformed police officer keeps business from being robbed. No English spoken here except by the officer. No English signs to identify or describe anything. If you can't recognize the product or read Spanish forget about buying anything with knowledge of what it is beforehand. I was the ONLY non-Hispanic customer, and no one except the officer was able to explain to me what anything was. Definitely learn Spanish before you patronize this business. I'm from Chicago and have patronized Czech, German, Greek, Polish, and numerous other in-store bakeries and EVERY one of them were staffed by clerks who spoke and understood English and had English product descriptions. I would have bought twice as much stuff if even one person on the staff of this place had cared enough to communicate with me thru Google Translate or whatever English words they might know coupled with the limited Spanish I comprehend. But no, they did not even pretend to care to help me, communicate with me, or spend even one second of their time on selling bakery to a (spitting sound) Gringo. The hatred of White Americans here...
Read moreVisited this location today with my grandkids and my grandson was behind his mother in line. Well she handed him the tongs not aware of the small sign that says kids are not to have them. My daughter in law was looking forward and the Manager came and took them out of his hands he didn’t inform my daughter in law so she could have get them from him. I approached him after my daughter in law and all he kept saying is he did nothing wrong. As a manager that is a liability if removing them from his hand and it would have cut him or pinched him they can be sued. The health code doesn’t say anything about kids touching the tongs health codes is they must be washed/ sanitized before returning them back for customers use. I’m serve safe certified ,I also was a General Manager for 19 years for a restaurant. The proper way to address a kid that is under age is to address the parents so then the parent can remove the item from the child. Again if that’s a liability as an owner your willing to take they you can afford a loss. I will not patronize any Arandas Bakery. I will give my business to El ...
