So, it is now probably 35 years I have been coming to Sweet Taste of Texas. They started in Memorial City Mall and my Creole mother thought she made the best pralines on Earth, and would take us there starting when I was a small child. I literally grew up on these things, so when I go to the mall and they aren't there after college, I was sad. Turns out, they moved to a warehouse because they outgrew the mall and after years of not knowing, I found them and started back buying her pralines again. She has indirectly been a part of so many milestones in my life. I went by after my dad died, my mom died, the day I got married, the birth of both of my kids, and it is still the best melt in your mouth praline you will ever have. It is even easier to support her because she is always kind, warm, wonderful, an absolute Angel in my book. I know her family comes first and she loves them more than anything and I am sure many of us can relate to that. She has always remembered me, asked about my family, and we talk about hers, and she has become like an old friend I get to visit every month. I am a little mad at her though. She gave me a white chocolate dipped Oreo and now my girls are hooked and I have to buy them as well whenever I go. Ha, I love them too j/k. Thanks for being such a great person and providing such a great product. I did enjoy going to visit you and keep making them pralines!!!! If you haven't been in, look up Sweet Taste of Texas, do yourself a favor and either get them shipped to you or stop by. You can't just eat just one, trust me, but like 10. Don't chew, just put it on your tongue and prepare to get transported sweet heaven. It's that good! God bless you and your husband and see you soon and I will finally bring my girls my to meet you so they can visit you in 40 years and talk about the memories you helped...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to a retirement dinner party at 4 PM on Presidentsā Day, with about 30 guests and we had the entire private room. I have absolutely no complaints. Our appetizers were jalapeƱo stuffed shrimp, and crab stuffed mushrooms. My steak was cooked absolutely perfect, it was delicious and was extremely tender with no fat. The mashed potatoes were simple, and the macaroni and cheese was very good. I love the salad bar. You can get a basket of hot bread, cornbread, and a roll that looks like a cinnamon roll, but itās not(is absolutely outstanding you must get that one). You can slice your own cheese from two huge blocks, they have cheddar and Swiss. You may choose, softened, butter, or delicious cinnamon butter, or applebutter to put on your hot bread. You could easily make a meal out of the salad bar and the hot bread and cheese, that is an option if you want. I had the key lime pie with apricot sauce for dessert. It was delicious. I could only eat half of it. The other option was cheesecake. They said it was delicious. Large servings. Nobody complained about their food. I did not see anyone return their steak. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was fantastic. Iāve never been disappointing coming to the Taste of Texas. It is very expensive so be prepared. You get what you pay for. Get there early or youāre going to have a very long wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI lived in the Spring Branch area as a kid. I did not move until my husband & I married. Sweet Taste of Texas first opened a store in Memorial City Mall. They were there for many years before relocating two more moves. Every time I went to the Mall I could not miss stopping at Sweet Taste of Texas. I have since moved up to Livingston, TX as caretaker for my father. I started using STT again. My dad & I loved their Sugar Pecans & the very best treat for us is their Pralines. Last year I bought a mess of pralines to give as stocking stuffers. Each round tasty candy comes individually wrapped. I would wrap a simple bow around each & drop a couple in each Christmas stocking. Every employee is just as nice as they can be at the store. Polite, helpful & knowledgeable! A very Merry Christmas SWEET...
