Update to Owner’s Reply: I had a 45-minute appointment, yet the only option offered was an electric shave for my bald head, or an express beard trim. That’s frustrating, because 45 minutes(as the owner states) is more than enough time for a proper head shave, which I was told could not be done. I understood if they need 20 more minutes for a beard trim,I could go without. But I was only offered an electric head shave for a bald headed guy.
With not wanting an electric shave on my head, I opted for the beard, which was a quick neck shave that took barely 15 minutes and a pour trim that my wife had to touch up when I got home. On top of that the neck shave left me with razor burn and bumps for days. Somehow there wasn’t “enough time” for me, but there was for the walk-in who came right after that they made time for. I did not have a set stylist it was my first time and there was no offer from the other stylist to take care of my needs. But she had time to take care of a walk in.
Check the timestamps, when my appointment ended and when the next walk-in began, and it’s clear where the priority went. Instead of an apology or accountability, the response I received shifted blame back on me, which says everything about their customer service. If you don’t book enough time we wont offer you anything but the bare minimum.
I will never return and strongly advise others to think twice before booking here. If you value professionalism, consistency, and respect for your time, look elsewhere.
Or I could get a beard trim. I booked a combo service but was told upon arrival that it couldn’t be completed because another appointment was scheduled right after mine. I had requested a head shave and beard trim with a neck shave, but was told it would take too long. As a result, I had to go to work looking scruffy and unprofessional because the system didn’t allocate enough time for my appointment.
Even after explaining the issue, I was advised to book the same type of service again next time, which doesn’t make sense since it clearly didn’t allow enough time the first time. The limited neck shave I did receive left me with razor bumps for two days.
Overall, the booking process seems confusing and poorly timed, and the quality of the shave caused skin irritation. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreLast week I made an appointment with the Gentry Men’s Salon and was very excited because all the reviews I read and friends that told me to come by and experience this amazing barbershop. I asked the receptionist (when making my appointment last week) who she recommended for shaving my head and edging up my beard. She told me Eli is one of our top barbers, I said perfect let’s go ahead and schedule it for Wednesday. I then told the receptionist that I have very sensitive skin and I could possibly cut easily, she said not a problem Eli is great and I will let him know. I come in this morning at 10AM greeted by the receptionist and others, great energy by everyone. She checked me in and said Eli will be with you shortly he has not arrived yet. Seven minutes later he comes up to me and says let’s get started. I introduced myself to him and he seemed kinda of cold towards me. He also kept looking at his watch. I told him that it was my first time here and I am excited to be here. I also told him that I have sensitive skin, when I told him that he looked at his watch again. I tried to make small talk with him but he did not seem to want to talk like the other barbers were with their clients. No biggie, I let him be, sometimes we have bad mornings. So he tells me we don’t have hot towels it will be a while I have to put some in a microwave. So he does and then he says to me you have very sensitive skin, I usually shave a head in ten minutes and looked at his watch once again. At this point I felt like I was a burden to him. You would not think someone could not mess up by shaving ones head, he did not cut me at all but the shave was awful. The receptionist told him his client has arrived, this was about 10:45ish. He then proceeds to tell me we are done. I was like ok, I had patches of hair still on my head and he did not wipe my beard with a hot towel after edging me up. I checked out and still gave Eli a $20.00 tip because I believe the Karma and Energy you give you will receive back. I am not sure if he had a bad morning but I will never go back. By no means I still would tell anyone to try it out because everyone else is so nice and the atmosphere is great there, but I would not...
Read moreWe called to state we were running 3 minutes late and the receptionist said she'd move the appointment 20 minutes for us. Upon arrival the stylist said the phone routes to another location and they couldn't see their systems (which is very odd) and the earliest they could see us would be 50 mins later. It's always new people each time we've gone here; the turnover seems very high.
Update in response to the reply - I actually arrived 14 minutes later than our original time (we stopped for gas) all because of your receptionist that said she'd move our appointment the 20 minutes! She offered. Apparently, you need to get with your other location! Please read the original review and take time to put details together!! Again, when we arrived, your stylist said your phones routed to another location and that location could not see your scheduling system. Your operations are poor. We called as a courtesy thinking the Stylist could take a small break, or use the facilities if they needed, etc., so when we showed up based on your receptionist communication we were met with a bad experience, and now you can't put details together nor see our history of visits, nor understand from a client perspective AND try to blame US!?!?! How awful and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! YOU prove my points, and you didn't mention anything about YOUR faulty phones and systems, get...
