Weāve been here less than two hours and Iām already going to write a review on our terrible stay.
Iāll start off by saying the place looked nice, is nice, and has good reviews. It was easy to find and the private parking was convenient and made us feel safe.
Now Iāll get to the not so great part. We sat in the hallway for an hour and a half unable to get into our room. The online chat replied, but no one answered the phone the multiple times I called. After an hour of trying to diagnose the door code via online chat, they finally said someone was coming in 10-15 minutes. It turned out to be over 30 more minutes of waiting.
Once a representative arrived, she was nice and apologetic but not prepared for the assistance we need, which was not her fault. She retrieved the master key to let us in but the door lock was still not functional. After she made several attempts to contact her manager, she finally got ahold of someone who told her not to leave a key with us. We assisted the nice lady who came to help us, but all we did was remove the latch plate from the door frame. The door frame was destroyed prior to our arrival and the door lock did not operate smooth enough to fully extend/retract. With the plate removed, the code appeared to work but we did not want to leave and get stuck out again.
So, after 8 hours of traveling, we had still not eaten dinner and our only choice was to DoorDash food and spend our first full day in Houston waiting on maintenance who we were told would arrive around 11am. We were told to DoorDash food and we would āget reimbursedā.
Once we finally got inside the unit, it appeared relatively clean and very spacious/modern. However, the bathroom cabinet was missing a door altogether and the bedroom carpet is stained. Iām leaving a bad review here because I still donāt even know how to contact someone who works for this company.
UPDATE: Still leaving this at 2 stars. Finally got ahold of someone, still via online chat, who offered to give us a $50 refund. I said make it $100, they did. Turns out it was in āSonder Creditā. I reached out again, they agreed to make it a monetary refund. Also, this is the worst toilet paper Iāve ever seen. I donāt expect the best of the best, but this is quite literally the thinnest Iāve ever seen. Less than one ply in...

Pros: -perfect location for what i needed. free parking. Garage was tiny but tons of easy free street parking just outside the garage. unit was absolutely spotless and felt very clean. loved the checkin process even though there were a couple glitches-my app, email and text from sonder all gave a different code for my room. Overlooked the text and after triying the code from the email and app i spent about 10 min om the phone trying to get help getting in. Finally found the text from earlier and it worked so didnt need any help afterall, but was kind of stressful. -tons of room to spread out with super high ceilings that make the place feel huge. AC worked very well. The room was pretty warm when i arrived, but when i turned the ac on it cooled off extremely fast. customer service is set up nicely. Can get a hold of someone on the phone or by chat almost instantly and they are very friendly and attentive decent price
Cons- Comforter and pillows are clean but very thin poor quality Extremely cheap toilet paper couch is pretty uncomfortable and literally falling apart. Told customer service and they said they would "make a note" but made no offer to replace it. super thin floors. Every movment above me was very loud. Was worried this might be an issue because im a light sleeper and asked to move to the top floor or to a room under an unoccupied room but was told there was nothing available. This wasnt a matter of the person above being overly loud. Was obvious they were making a normal amount of noise but the cheap buildings construction was not designed in a way to insulate sound between floors. Luckily, the person above me went to bed early and left immediately upon waking so it wasnt much of an issue. Hoping for the best for tonight but am a little worried abouy it. Custer service did offer to bring ear plugs and/or white noise machine...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy staying at the Hampstead! I came to Houston for the summer looking for a short term and furnished rental for my time here (which I came to find is a large ask). Fortunately, the Hampstead was able to accommodate me! I wasnāt able to come to Houston before moving in, but thanks to Daiana, I was able to get a virtual tour of the unit and the neighborhood!
The application process was smooth, as was getting officially set up in the apartment portal. Upon my move in, I immediately noticed the peacefulness of the neighborhood! There are tons of people (couples, families with kids, single people, etc) biking, walking, or jogging in the neighborhood. Despite being ādowntownā, the apartment is tucked away in its own calm and safe neighborhood.
The apartment building itself is extremely nice and very new. There are 2 parking garages that offer lots of convenience, which was especially helpful when I was moving in and having to take multiple trips from my car to my unit. My unit is extremely spacious and had clearly been cleaned! The balcony also offers a great view of the peaceful neighborhood and of the downtown skyline. The building is quiet and is not heavily populated (which I wonāt complain about).
I feel extremely grateful that God led me to this place! I cannot imagine that youāll find a better option for the quality, price, location, or service in the Downtown Houston area. Itās been one week since Iāve been here and I am facing the rest of the summer with excitement from what Iāve been shown so far! If youāre considering moving to Houston I highly recommend giving this place...
