The vibes was koo, but please read and be aware!!! I went during a happy hour night yesterday and was told the martinis are $7. I asked for a watermelon martini and my second drink was a tequila and pineapple. The bartender, black girl with braids idk her name, told me she would bring the first drinks to our table because my friend ordered one as well with don julio. I dont drink don julio so i know for a fact that we didnt request two. I watched her specifically make my tequila and pineapple with a clear cylinder bottle but she made my drink facing the back of the bar which is a big no no for a bartender but i assumed they was strict on liquor and maybe she was doing a heavy pour. As my friend and i were closing our tabs, i noticed her bill was crazy high for only 3-4 drinks. The gratuity alone was almost $20 and thats when she showed me the mandatory 18% gratuity added to every bill. Why i get my bill and my 2 drinks was $40! So im like what did you charge me for? This lady tried to argue me down and tell me i ordered a lemon drop with don julio! I said no girl i drunk a martini in a martini glass! She also tried to argue me down and say my second drink was made with don julio we all know they have a specific bottle. So then i realized she made my drink facing the back of the bar so that i wouldnt see the alcohol she was pouring!!! Not knowing i was watching and still noticed the long bottle! So she charged me the don julio price and gave me cheap liquor. So be careful and dont leave an open tab because what she was doing was saving the bar the more expensive liquor while upping her gratuity by charging more for the drinks. The more your drinks cost, the more she get in tips!! Insane!! Because its literally you word against hers. My friend paid half just to let it go cuz i wasnt.. but if yall keep letting these establishments get over, they gone continue to do...
Read moreI visited Tipsy Lounge last night with some friends and as I was standing at the bar, I noticed a young lady sitting at the bar (almost sleep) and clearly had reached her drinking limit. A few minutes later a guy walked up to the bar and tried to order her another drink. Immediately, the bartender (Unique) told him no, she could not have another drink. I was amazed and applauded her for how she handled the situation so professionally. I spoke with her afterwards and gave her a heads up that I was going to do a review based off of what I saw during that interaction. She explained to me how much she cares about the customers, the business (Tipsy Lounge), and also herself, considering she has a bartending license that allows her to work and take care of herself. This was so commendable to me because I am a bar owner and this showed me that a lot of bartenders do have integrity and that there are more important things in life than money because clearly, she could've continued serving that young lady and made more money for herself and the business. "All money ain't good money." In that moment I was just thinking to myself wow, she could've just potentially saved that young lady from either getting into an accident (if she was driving) or potentially getting taken advantage of by a guy who clearly knew she didn't need another drink but was trying to get her one anyway. I was glad to see that shortly after some of her girlfriends came and got her from the bar and took her home. On top of all that, Unique is a very good bartender. Even though she was busy most of the time I was there, she made sure we didn't have to wait long for our drinks, she brought them to our table, and she had a nice, friendly attitude the...
Read moreWill not be back. I was highly disappointed by the service received. Visiting from Chicago, I went to this place after another person from Houston suggested it. The place is entirely too small for the amount of hookah sold/used. It’s not even enough room to walk, let alone be worried about getting burned in the process. The area that the hookahs are prepped is right next to the bathroom. While walking to the bathroom, I literally felt the heat from hookah next to my legs! Extremely dangerous! Also after sitting for a few minutes, I noticed that no one came to our table to take our drink order. I was then told by a patron that we had to go to the bar. I thought to myself… Ok, that’s different with this type of setup, but no problem. I proceeded to make my way to the bar. However, upon doing that— an employee walked to me and said “I hate to do this, but someone just purchased this table and you all have to get your things and get up”… excuse me? There was not a reserved sign on our table nor did we even know that the tables were for sale! It was so embarrassing to be asked to get up without even being offered the chance to buy the table. Why not offer it to us? Why not offer the table to the people already sitting down!??? I was extremely disappointed and left...
