Star Hair Salon — Local services in Houston

I have been going to Star for over 10 years now. No frills haircut but all thrills given the shady neighbors hanging out outside. Inside the barbers are all nice but some are novice and results will vary. I wait for my favorite, front chair past cashier, who does an excellent job every time. She is quick and easy. If you are looking for esthetic and pretentious, this is not the place for you. If you want a fast, clean, cheap, good haircut this is top choice. Even with tips, I spend 1/4 the price I would at any other place in Houston. $30 For a low ball fade haircut? I don't think so. Will continue to come...

I went to get a haircut today this morning. As I was driving in downtown I see this place and decide to go in it was my first time here. It was 8:45am and the place was already open. I wait for a little while for a haircut since they only had 1 worker at this time due to it had not open yet. The place is ok looks like they have a lot of stations for haircuts. I swear this is one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever gotten. People say this place is good but I guess the hairdresser matters. I got this old lady that didn’t want to fix her mistakes. She was weak and feeble and doesn’t even really know how to give a good haircut. She was so bad and unprofessional. Plus they take only cash and nowhere was that to be known until afterwards. I had to go to ATM and get money. Waste of time. Lesson learned. I will go to a higher price place next time and get what I need the...
