We have a membership and normally have a pleasant experience when we attend. Today was different. It was not crowded at all so we were excited to take our 5 year old and enjoy playing with him. This did not happen because employees followed us and many other families around and literally cleaned up as my child and others played. At one point an employee turned off the light table my child was playing at and took apart his creation while he was still playing. We were the only family in the area so it was not like we were making a mess or causing others to wait. I had to verbally tell the lady to stop cleaning up my child's creation. This happened again in the play cafe. As soon as a table would be set up with food and dishes to play at it would be picked up and put back on shelves. Another family playing at the giant lego blocks had to tell a different employee that their children were actively building with those toys - again no one was waiting a turn. The employee stood there until the family picked up their children and walked away. The opposite seemed to happen in Biscuits Backyard as the toddlers were hitting each other with fishing poles and scooping water out of the bin and throwing it at people passing by with no caregivers or employees to be found. I am not sure if these employees were recently reprimanded for not cleaning as it was truly overkill and rude but regardless families should have been listened to when they expressed that play was still happening. We all appreciate a clean and welcoming environment for play but it was very sad to hear my child say that the ladies did not want them playing with their toys or that he needed to work faster before they came to take...
Read moreThe two stars is strictly for the Eif University ( it was a huge disappointment). However I'd give the museum a 4 star rating! My son's school came on a field trip today to Elf University. His teachers were misinformed by someone at the museum ( we were told prior to the trip that we would be able to walk around with our kids without staying with the school group). At arrival not only were we informed that we weren't allowed to do that...we were also informed that it was a guided group tour! While the tour guide was friendly ( the tour itself was lousy and was not worth the 1 1/2 hour drive). My son's class was only able to do a very limited amount of activities ( letter to Santa, Christmas Ornament Craft, fake snow outside w/ picture taking, taking pictures inside by a Christmas tree, and a Christmas box game). After that we were rushed upstairs to eat lunch in the lunch. Then it was time for his school to head home. I feel like my son and his classmates were not given a chance to actually have fun throughout the whole museum. Thankfully since I drove myself up there my son was able to stay to enjoy the rest of the museum. He didn't enjoy himself during the tour, but really enjoyed the fun stations afterwards. The water stations, construction zone area, and toy train area were some of his favorite stations. The staff were friendly! I'd recommend visiting the museum. But Elf University needs some improvements to be made. The museum was beautifully decorated...
Read moreIt was okay. All of the staff were amazing amd so friendly with our field trip kids. The kids loved it and had so much fun but to me it was a little overpriced for what it is. There were a couple of the play areas shut down the day we went that we wished we could've enjoyed. But to me it was just okay. They had a water Lego table, several areas for the kids to build using different types of items such as foam Legos, wooden slats, gear tables and things of that nature but our 8 year old wasn't at all interested in any of that. They had a milk the cow station as well as a play veterinarian setup which was probably our daughter's favorite thing to do of the day. Her other favorite was the play kicthen/dining area. Other than that there was a pirate ship where they could raise the flag, a couple of smell this and guess what's inside and feel this to guess what's inside but I wasn't impressed. They had a talking tree which was creepy to my 8 year old. Other than that it was just wall around and look at stuff. It might be worth it if it were a rainy day and you just really wanted to get the kids out of the house, but to me I'd rather spend my money elsewhere doing something my little would find more entertaining but it wasn't bad, I just wouldn't rave over it. But the staff were...
