Renters beware of this condo My wife and I normally don’t write negative reviews but we're doing this to let people know the truth about this condo #109 @ the Reef Club and the owner C Seematter. We had a horrible vacation because we were told lies by the owner, and her advertisement of her unit is not true. Unit 109 at Reef Club in Indian Shores Beach is advertised as a luxury condo. It is not! The decor is dark and dreary in living room and master bedroom, not color coordinated, furniture looks old and worn, bed linens look worn and had fuzz balls on them, clutter in master bedroom and living room. Actually had a broken mirror behind master bedroom door and mirror to dresser sitting in floor in corner of master bedroom. Both bathrooms very small, master bedroom closet was tiny. Owner had her toiletries in medicine cabinet, messy. Stained rugs were in master bathroom. Pillows in living room, worn and threads loose. Clutter in living room, candles and dusty flowers everywhere, and multiple deordorizers throughout. The kitchen was so cluttered with the owners food and dishes we had no room for our groceries for the week!! She leaves a refrigerator full of used and open foods!!!! She says everyone can use, that is totally unsanitary and unsafe, this is a health hazard, she is not running a restaurant. This is not luxury in my book! She also did not include in her description that she requires to have her thermostat left at 70 degrees. We found this out when my wife called her to talk bout the condo a week before arrival, after we had paid everything. My wife told her we had to have it cold, she promised it was freezing at 70 degrees and she had had no complaints about it in past. WRONG. We were miserable even with two fans from home. Then on Thursday before we left the Ac stopped working. I changed filter because one in it was filthy. Thinking this would help we went sightseeing and came back to an oven. My wife called the owner to let her know about AC and she verbally attacked my wife. Said we had not called immediately and that she would not pay for an after hour service fee. Also blamed us saying we had the temp set below 70, as per her instructions. My wife told her we complied with her instructions but she wouldn’t listen. She talked over her, raised her voice, and used curse words and told my wife she couldn’t do anything because she was in Kansas. Sent a maintenance man to check it out but he did not fix it. We slept in an oven, temp 85 . She did not say she was sorry Ac wasn’t working nor was she concerned over our safety, she was mad that she was having to pay for repair. Called her several times next day and she was rude again, blaming us and denying everything my wife said. She told us her Ac had broken down 4 times this year and she was tired of all the complaints. She said "I just get a new one because I have the money". AC people came and fixed and it felt better than whole week. Had remodeling above us, waking us up early. She denied knowing anything about it because we were not informed of that. To make matters worse she called us on our way home and told us we had damaged her stove-top!! We had actually cleaned unit before we left even though we paid for it to be cleaned. My wife told me she did this to recoup her AC repair bill. So in conclusion, the unit is not a luxury condo, it was not nice and clean, it was cluttered, the kitchen was unsanitary with open and used food, the Ac did not work as promised, work upstairs was very loud and disturbing. And finally the owner Colleen Seemaster is the most unprofessional and disrespectful business person we have ever dealt with, seemed nice until we had a problem. The reason we rated the condo a 1 is because the location and the ocean were beautiful. If owner had handled this situation as a honest business person, you would not be reading...
Read more2021 Unit 308 is comfortable. 3 bedroom,2 bath. Roomy. Need a more pillows and towels. Standard bamboo rattan furniture needs more cushions. Needs working can opener and spatula. No potholders. Master shower head very low pressure. Sliding door track needs cleaning for easier open and close. Refrig stove micro coffee all fine. Good cabinet space. Washer and dryer work well. Drying rack on porch is rusty. Spent a nice week there but will try a different unit next time unless this one is updated more.
8.22 Unit 407. Such potential. Needs more attention to detail. Can opener didn't work. SGD track needs to slide. A baking pan would be handy. An unscratched egg pan would work wonders. Hideabed cushions are awful. Water marks at bottom of doors. Door lock hard to use. Spacious layout dining and living. Great view from 1 balcony. Other view is of street. All appliances worked well. For $2000 a week I expected better. And I absolutely hate to wake up early to run the washing machine and dishwasher and be out by 10. Maybe I'm better suited to a hotel where I wake up and get out.
7.23 Unit 308. The shower head in the small bathroom fell off the first time we tried to use the shower. I called maintenance and it was explained to me that it was not an emergency and couldn't be taken care of till Monday. Thankfully Sunday a maintenance man came by and replaced the shower head. Also the hardware cover of the grabbar need to be attached. It is loose and moves around.
The sliding glass door is miserable. The track is loose near the closure. The door is very heavy and difficult to open and close.
There was no utility room access to use beach chairs and toys.
The dining table is rickety. The legs are loose and need to be reinforced. The dining chairs are in bad shape. One has a 6" rip in the chair seat seam. The finials on a few chairs are loose and come off easily.
The 3 times we used the oven it set off the hall fire alarm. There seems to be a problem with the oven door closing tightly.
The small bedroom has a curtain rod standing in the corner of the room. The lovely bedroom furniture completely blocks access to the closet.
The dishwasher made lots of whistling and hissing sounds and did not clean the dishes. Finally I took out the filter and cleaned it. That helped but is not an ideal way to spend vacation time.
Linens. Absolutely no extra towels or bed linens. No beach towels at all. If one got dirty wash it. I went to the office to ask about getting extra towels. For a fee???? I realize things got cut back due to COVID but this is ridiculous. I bought towels. I just walked out. I could not be polite. I was so annoyed to be told "a small fee" after I spent almost $4000 for 8 nights.
I have stayed in this unit before. Some updating was done. Ceiling fans replaced. How about one for the porch. The master shower had good pressure and the floor was not slippery. How about a grab bar? The wet clothes rack was great. Big and lots of bars. The porch furniture was comfortable and adequate. The base of the pedestal fan fell off every time it was moved. But it did move the air. The air conditioner worked well. The refrigerator worked well and is big and spacious. The pool was clean but usually crowded. There is a new play area behind the tennis court with seating and umbrellas and some lawn games. Usually parking is in short supply. This year was the same. With only one extra parking pass for the area at Plumlee office. 6 adults, how many cars? A nuisance definitely to shuffle around.
What has happened to QUALITY CONTROL at Plumlee? It is not the guest's job to go in inspecting everything in a rental. It should be an enjoyable time. Something can always go wrong. But not so...
Read moreThe location is great! The view is beautiful. The building is older and there were power issues one night. These condos are individual owned and rented out. Beware of the owner of 307& 507. We booked 307 July 8-22. The morning of Monday July 17 the air conditioning went out. We texted the owner and he eventually texted back that he would work on getting someone out there. Then on Tuesday at 6:45pm he called to say he would not be able to get it fixed. He was so nice and friendly. He stated that he and his wife felt terrible this happened and he would refund Monday-Saturday. (I should have asked for that in writing!!) I told him I appreciated that and we would be going home because the heat in the condo was unbearable. He then he called back at 8:00pm and said he had someone to fix the air the next day. However, we would have to be out of the condo all day. He offered to buy us lunch that day. He also said the air compressor was on the roof so if it was raining they could not do it. (It rains about every afternoon in the summer in Florida) I told him it was not easy for us to be with out a place all day due to having 3 small kids, a dog and a husband that needed to log in work. I then told him we were leaving that night. We could not take another night with no air! He did not tell me that his offer of the refund did not stand if the air was fixed. He said whatever I wanted to do was fine. We left Tuesday night July 18 and I never heard from the owner again. I emailed him July 29 and August 1 about the refund and he never replied. I texted him August 2 and he said he would send out $300(my security deposit). I told him that was unacceptable and he should refund the full amount like he said he would for the broken air conditioning. He finally said he would give me $100 refund , a gift card to guppy's restaurant and a free night next year. He said since he told me about the air being fixed Wednesday it is in compliance with the rental contract he does not have to refund. I feel this was very poor customer service. Make sure you read the contact because he will not work with you if...
