A beautiful waterside park with everything you could ask for: gorgeous views, beaches with volleyball nets, playgrounds, fields, spacious parking lots, and even clean bathrooms. It's a convenient spot to have a barbeque lunch as well. Plenty of picnic tables, benches, and grills are available for use. And be sure to check out Issaquah Paddle Sports to rent a paddle board, kayak, or pedal boat and explore Lake Sammamish. I would have loved to walk more of the trails, but that will have to wait until next time!
As this is a state park, a Discover Pass is required for parking. If you don't have an annual pass ($30), you can also purchase a one-day pass ($10). Another option is to take advantage of State Park Free Days. Facilities are clean and seem well maintained.
Great grills and grassy areas - some group sites have covered areas some do not. As well, there seems to be more picnic tables on some sites than on others. The pros are that The park is nice and there is ample parking. The beach part is a bit small, so on summer days, it is really crowded. Other than the beach, the rest of the park is a standard park. Lots of parking and fairly accessible from most parts of the eastside. It's a perfect place to hung out with friends. kids friendly, playground with many facilities. The lake is suitable for children to play with water, and the huge beach is also a good place for children to spend time. Adults can have a picnic with friends, barbecue or hot pot, or just sunbathe and enjoy the lake view. There are great amenities, a really nice playground for the kids, lots of restrooms, a swimming area, too cold be be used now. We will...
Read moreFirst I got lost I went to their dock for boats. Then i finally found their Lake area for swimming and kids playground. discovery pass is required but their office is conscience located near the front entrance. I got my discovery pass in person was easy and I got a map of the area.
The lake is beautiful excellent view. One of my favorite place. Their parking was easy plenty of room.
However, their kids playground is the worst in terms of maintenance comparing to other kids playground. We went two months ago . My kids were excited after seeing the photos of this park online, we very disappointed when they came in person. There was about half of the play structures not useable it was block with a caution tape and needed repair to function. The rubber flooring of the playground is in poor condition there was many places with tears and unsafe for kids that would have used some patch to even out. Overal, i think this is a great place for swimming and other needs, I will return next spring and hopefully these repairs have been done. Two stars for the...
Read moreI'm not sure I should share here as it risks being overrun by people due to how cool and accessible it is/was. I always see the traffic coming through Issaquah during summer evenings and weekends and wondered where boats of that size were coming from. Turns out Lake Sammamish is pretty awesome! I'm more of a self powered guy-(as much because the area is not my home)- and also I hear the best 2 days of owning a boat are the day you buy and the day you sell...). So, I'm into SUP and kayaking and other self-powered fun. What a great place this is! Aside from the wind pushing us back to shore quickly after the effort of paddling out-(somewhat ideal)- it's really a nice place. Easy to park, rentals available and easy shore access. To be sure, as much as I love the water, I hate sand... so the pebble beaches were ideal... to walk away from. Pavillions are large and apparently easy to rent-(local source). Highly recommended!! But please only when I'm not already planning in case it gets...
