Called to get an idea if they can repair a tv backlight. They said they can, but cannot even give a range of what that type of repair might cost should that be the problem. That is not an over the phone estimate which I understand why they wouldn’t do that since they need to make a diagnosis of the problem. They should be able to provide general ranges for types of repairs without having to charge $125 to come out to make the diagnosis for the specific problem. This review does not reflect on their actual repair service which may be adequate, but on their policy of requiring a costly diagnosis before giving typical repair costs for service when the model of the tv is known. It seems like a scam to just get a diagnosis fee and possibly estimating a fee that would make people better off to buy a new product. A new backlight should not cost more than $50 in parts for one side and then whatever they charge per hour in labor. I’m not sure why else they would not want to give that kind of information out.
Update: I called Ontech Force for a quote and they provided one. It was a very reasonable price for the repair. I took the TV to them and they did a great job with the repair. They work out of a warehouse area which seemed sketchy, but don’t let that deter you if you are looking for quality TV repair at a good price. The TV is still working great...

I've purchase almost every one of my phones from best buy over the past 15 years. They are usually helpful and great to work with until my last replacement issue.
After my cell phone wouldn't take a charge I brought it in to be replaced. The staff was extremely helpful even though they had to transfer me between departments a couple times before it was resolved.
Once I had the new phone (Free of charge due to a protection plan) First time I've ever used one successfully.
Because of how awesome the protection plan was on the first phone I obviously purchased another one on the new phone.
What they didn't tell me is they changed the plan and now instead of exchanging me with a new phone from the floor that is of a similar model to what I had they are wanting to charge me an additional $119.00 and it will take up to a week for the new phone to show up.
I'm writing this review because I feel like they sold me a product under false pretense. I wouldn't have purchase a second protection plan if I knew it wasn't going to be the same product as before.
I will no longer purchase electronics from best buy and will find another store to price match them in the future if I...
Read moreI've had two really bad experiences with Best Buy store policies. First let me say the employees are very good, knowledgeable and friendly, no pressure. However, the same con't be said for corp. policy. Here's one example; It was a day or two before Christmas, my son wanted an electronic game box. I went online to find a store that still had it in stock, found it at a Best Buy, ordered and paid balance online using a check card, for a store pick-up. Within an hour I was at the store to pick it up. Greeted with a so sorry we made a mistake (why didn't you call me??), we no longer have it in stock. I said, no problem refund me the payment and I'll look somewhere else. Sorry we can't do that for two days (which would have been Christmas Day). What if that money was the only cash I had for Christmas (price approx. $500.00)? Many don't have the resources to freeze that much money a day or two before Christmas, I was fortunate and bought the gift elsewhere. I will NEVER shop...
