I shop here often and appreciate the selection of stores as many of them are my favorites. It’s not superb in terms of cleanliness or tidiness but not terrible either. The floors often look somewhat dirty and the exit doors don’t sit flush in the jambs. I also think it would be useful to post store directories at the entrances - I’m not sure if there already are any, but if there are I’ve never seen them.
The parking lot could be designed more functionally. Some of the angles coming out of aisles leave you blind to passing traffic until you’re basically all the way out. People frequently drive the wrong way down the one-way aisles. Simultaneously, the exits are difficult to reach making it harder to gtfo when you actually want to leave. The parking lot is often quite busy so all of this seems dangerous and makes me nervous every time I shop there. I don’t know anything about parking lot design but there has got to be a better way. Many of the lines are also fading and it’s probably time to refresh them.
Overall, I appreciate this mall and all of the stores around it. I love that it is easily accessible from both I-94 and 127 - very convenient. This is where I do 95% of my in-store retail shopping. I would love to see some of the empty kiosks and storefronts filled, although the selection is already great. Some ideas I would love to see would be a pretzel stand (Auntie Anne’s would be amazing), some kind of mall court type restaurant, a personalized memento type kiosk, a hickory farms kiosk for the holidays, Ollie’s, a Salvation Army/thrift type store, and a coffee...
Read moreThe Crossing is more of a strip-mall with a communal enclosed hallway than a traditional mall, but still surpasses the actual mall across town. There's one of whatever you need there, Best Buy for electronics, Dunham's for sports and hunting, TJ Max for clothing, and a 5 Below for cheap Japanese candy. During the holidays there are pop up stands that sell a wider variety which is kinda cool.
The 4 star rating is for two things. 1st, no food court. While The Crossing has what I feel is the best Cony Island in town, there is a lack of cheap walking around food. There are sit-down places nearby, but a Wetzels or a cheap chicken-fingers and burger place would make a killing. 2nd, the parking is weird. Not that the parking is bad or lacking, just weird. Half the parking lot parks at right angels and the other half in strait lines and it screws...
Read moreNot bad and fairly clean. Careless drivers or just plain aggressive. Almost got hit pulling into a parking spot. Someone just had to have it that was behind me. I guess putting on your turn signal and slowing down means they have to beat you to it. A few words were had and she said she was in a hurry. No reason to do 30+ mph in a parking lot. Then on the way out as I was coming to a stop sign someone some one different pulled around me on the left cut me off and blew threw the stop sign also cutting off another car. Mind you I'm not a slow driver by any means. Someone is going to get hit there, hopefully it's not a pedestrian. Left there shaking my head. I know people are very frustrated with all the construction around there. No reason to make the parking lot MIS. I have to go there this week again. Hopefully it will be a...
