Found the owners of this movie theater to be very inflexible and not very understanding. We were staying in the town of Jackson hole downtown. We pulled up on Google a theater just a few blocks from us and purchased tickets. We then proceeded to eat at the place right across the street from it. When we walked across the street to go to the movie we found it it was posted on the door that it was closed, however the Google notice at the time did not indicate it was close. Unfortunately, we had purchased tickets for a movie theater that was quite a ways out of town and we had no way of making the movie time by the time that we determined what was going on. Nothing on the website indicated that this location was closed. And unfortunately the owners were very intolerant about refunding our tickets even though they could tell that they were not used. I see now that they have updated this other location is permanently closed, but unfortunately that didn’t help us much and wasting the money we spent on tickets. Emailed them to explain the situation and they advised that because the movie had already started and pass that they would be unable to refund our money, even though I’m sure very easily they could tell we had not used the tickets that we purchased online. At least they have updated the Google listing for the other location now so no one else will show up or purchase tickets there and have the same issue. Horrible...
Read moreA good theater for a small town. MovieWorks Cinema is good; not great, not bad, but adequate. There are five screens including 3D (for the color-blind among us, the 3D is the updated kind and does not require red/blue glasses). The seats are not new: cup-holders included, movable armrests not included. There is a slightly incline to the seating but it isn't full stadium seating. Be prepared to move if you're short and a tall person sits in front of you.
Staff is always friendly and helpful, concessions are a good value for the money. There's only two registers so the wait can be long if you hit it right before the show starts.
All in all, not the personality of Jackson Hole Twin Cinemas, but as the showings never overlap, MovieWorks Cinema fills a needed gap in the town theater options. My husband and I tend to go to Idaho Falls for the "must have epic experience"...
Read moreIt's not your newest theater. Nor is it the largest, the cleanest, the most high tech. It's basically a theater that looks like it was built 35 years ago and hasn't really changed much since. But honestly, all this new crap with huge digital screens, surround sound, concessions purchased on your cell phone, reclining chairs. We were able to make it through WWI and WWII as well as Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm without those luxuries. So in little town Jackson, this suited our needs for a post dinner, rainy day, night time activity. We were visiting, but also tired from having driven for a major part of the day. This was a calm and relaxing way for us to prep for lots of physical activity...
