This Hampton Inn has a potential for greatness. A little tweak in the execution of some things would make all the difference in the world. That being said we met some fantastic employees. Sherry at the front desk was very helpful and we met a gentleman named Chuck who really went out of his way to be interactive, a great conversationalist and gave us some good hints of places to check out.||The hotel itself is conveniently located between a target and Albertsons grocery store, so you can get pretty much anything you need ||There is an outdoor fire pit that on some evenings a local comes and play his violin. ||Our room was on the first floor at the end of the hallway. The hallway ends in a sort of cul-de-sac. Unfortunately, I think that contributes to the noise that was prevalent. I heard people snoring, and the close proximity of the rooms you were very aware of everybody coming and going. Another observation was on the third floor , the laundry room is situated between two guest rooms. I would advise not getting rooms. I believe it was 315 and 317 they were smack in the middle of the elevator and laundry room. The rooms at the end of the cul-de-sac are 130, 131, 132, 133. We were in room 132 and it had a nice little deck with a back door entry and two rocking chairs out there. This was shared with the room next-door who had their own rocking chairs. It was a nice touch. ||Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn fare. She didn’t always open on time but definitely shut it down exactly at 10 AM. It seems like she struggled to keep everything replenished, every morning we had to wait for some hot food. ||The TV was difficult to navigate. The rolling TV guide was not accurate and all of the channels were not accessible by the remote control in the room. We asked at the front desk, but the clerk stated she did not watch TV so she didn’t really know and that just some channels weren’t available . It was the local channels that were not coming on the TV but they were able to be seen in the breakfast area because they had the right control to use.||There is one computer available in the lobby, but the printer was not working or connected. We tried to use that and when we asked the desk clerk, he said it had not been working for at least a month. He did try to be helpful and say I could send my document to his email and he would print it for me at the desk, but I did not want to send a personal document .||Overall, the place was very clean and most of the people were...
Read moreI am partial to the Hilton brand and have been a Hilton Honors member for quite some time. I usually love what is offered at the individual hotels for certain reasons and pick them based upon it's conveniences. Most of my stays are for business (well over 1,000 nights), but many are for recreation. The stay in Jackson Hole was for recreation. I took my wife there last week and we felt like we got ripped off. We stayed for 2 nights at the Jackson Hole Hampton on our journey. We paid $400 AND 70,000 points for the two nights. That is equivalent to $400 / night. The room that they gave me didn't even have a king bed and had asked 5 times to be put into a better room. It was cramped, adjacent to the elevator, across the hall from the ice machine, across the hall from the housekeeping room and back-to-back with the laundry room. Guests were doing their laundry well past midnight both nights. Shoes "clunked" in the laundry machines, doors "slammed" closed as they entered / exited, the noise from the ice machine was going at all times from late night to very early in the mornings, housekeeping staff were gathering in the morning right outside our door at 7:12 am., and kids were running the halls day and night (highlights of being by the elevator). Breakfast - Even though the staff was pleasant, the real question in this precarious time is more about the sanitation. Even though the servers were wearing gloves, one of them was serving food, handled dirty trays, moved chairs in the common area, touched the hands of a guest, then went back to serving food without washing her hands. (Not a good idea during this pandemic). Unfortunately, we threw out most of our food because of this, but not in front of the other guests. I will attempt to upload a few photos from my stay which were taken right outside of my door. When looking at the hotel from the outside, it looks nice and very inviting. When inside, it looks and feels dated, cramped because of the small rooms, and relatively dark because of the ambience. Now, the staff was nice, but I feel that they are the only reason for the second star. I appreciated them and their hospitality, but overall, we got ripped off. This hotel is only worth (even in a really nice area) about $130 / night... Not...
Read moreI would rate this hotel 2 out of 5 stars. While the rooms were clean upon arrival, the beds were decent, and the location near Target and Albertsons is convenient, the negatives far outweighed the positives.
Noise: The walls are extremely thin. You can hear toilets flushing, showers running, and water rushing through the pipes, which makes for a rough night’s sleep. Every single door that closes, even if it’s at the other end of the hall, will rattle your own door which gets loud.
Rooms: The rooms are very small and get stuffy quickly. Clean, yes, but cramped for the price point. Also just poor quality furniture for what you pay.
Breakfast: Complimentary, but not worth your time. For what you’re paying per night, the quality is disappointing. The staff who is in charge of the breakfast can’t ever keep up and it’s usually burnt with minimal options that aren’t the hot food.
Staff: A mixed bag. Some staff members were wonderful, but others acted like simple questions were an inconvenience. We asked for an extra blanket and were flat-out told “no” with no explanation, which was shocking for a hotel of this brand. Most of them don’t acknowledge you exist and keep their heads in their phones.
General upkeep: The property feels run down. Almost every single night, they were vacuuming the halls at 7:30 p.m., which was just odd. The employee would be vacuuming the halls while scrolling on their phone with no respect for people wanting to unwind and relax during the night time. Overall, it doesn’t feel well managed. The staff is usually just sitting on their phone instead of doing what they’re obviously supposed to be doing.
Amenities & outdoor space: There is some nice seating with fire pits out front, but it’s also the main smoking area. If you’re sensitive to smoke, it’s almost impossible to enjoy.
Lighting: The building and parking lot are poorly lit, making the entrance easy to miss at night and the parking lot uncomfortable after dark.
Overall, while this hotel isn’t the absolute worst, it does not live up to its price tag. There are far better options in Jackson at a similar rate or even less. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as an option unless it was your last resort. Hopefully they get some better management and can get things put...
