Pearl was my hair guru and she was the most professional I have ever experienced. She spoke with kindness, she took great care to ensure I was comfortable and enjoyed my experience with her by making sure my thirst was taken care of, changing my towels out frequently, changing my cape to make sure bleach did not get on my hair that was already bleached, being careful with my hair period. My color turned out perfect. Pearl also comforted me with words and care during the waxing. I just cannot say enough positive words with regards to this woman. I travel around the globe and wish I could taker her with me.
She also did not rush me at all. This I cannot say for my girlfriend who was also there but dealt with another hair dresser that I cannot recommend. My heart was so sad for Julia because she needed a hair correction and all she got was more brass and a loss of a lot of hair that was over bleached where it was already white. Julias hair was four shades of brass and yellow. We called ahead of time to schedule a hair correction color and her hair was long so we made sure there was plenty of time. Robin, her stylist, did not cut her hair which Julia wanted, she did not even put a towel around her, she did not condition her hair like I asked her to and I specifically walked over and told the woman Julia was looking for a shade between pale blonde and platinum. Robin heard us loud and clear. Other stylist also heard this as well. She pushed Julia out of there without her hair being blown out completely. Why is this? many reasons I suppose but mostly because she was done messing with Julia.
I remember when she took the towel from Julias hair after washing it and a pile of hair dropped to the floor. I gasped and she kicked it to the side. Julia does have a lot of hair but I knew that came from over bleaching the hair that should not have been touched in the first place. I was astonished at this womans behavior with Julia. She only dried the very top bang area where Julias hair is naturally white.
Oh and....She was supposed to wax Julia but did not so we had to go to another salon just for the waxing costing us more time and more money than the waxing was supposed to cost Julia at Hair Unlimited.
So Mzz Robin sent her out with wet hair saying she had another client that had been waiting for an hour. This was not Julia's problem. When we got to the car, Julia had to have me wipe bleach off her face and her hand because this woman did not even care to make sure her body was free from bleach.
All of Julias hair underneath is still very orange and brassy, her middle hair is still quite yellow and only the top is pale blonde, this after spending $135. Poor Julia did not know any better and even gave her a $25 tip. This was Julia's first time in a salon in a very long time. I was the one making her go to a professional....gag.
So, five stars to my girl Pearl, wonderful woman who takes pride in her work and respects the clients needs and time and minus 5 stars to Julias girl, Robin. Terrible...
Read moreMy previous stylist moved out of state. I called in to schedule a haircut, at the same salon, and specifically requested someone with experience. I was assured that would be the case. I arrived to my appointment before the hairdresser was there. When she walked in she did not greet me, she only asked who my appointment was with and walked away without saying anything else. She then went to her station and called me over. She did not have a good attitude. It was obvious she is not happy with her job and/or life. I informed her I had not had a chance to wash my hair and that it was dirty. She only wet it down with a spray bottle. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted. She proceeded to ask me SEVERAL questions as to how long the layers should be. An experienced stylist does not need to ask that many questions. I showed her the picture again. She proceeded to give me a cut with only two layers and said she was done, in less than 20 minutes. I indicated the picture shows more layers and requested she blow it out so that I could see what it looked like. She put product on my dirty hair. It stunk!! I have never expected any stylist to make my hair look exactly like a photograph, however, the cut I was given looked like someone who was still in Beauty School. I will not go to this salon again, as I was lied to about the experience of the Stylist and the Stylist was not receptive to what I was asking for as a paying customer. I would not even give the...
Read moreZoey cut my hair a few days ago. She did a good job. While I was there she offered to tint my eyebrows. Unfortunately, she forgot to set a timer and my eyebrows turned out extremely dark. I have fair skin and I ended up looking like a clown.
I went home feeling distraught. My sister suggested I go back and have her fix it. When I contacted Zoey for help she made a couple of suggestions but offered no further assistance.
I'm 64 years old and I didn't feel confident trying anything on my own. I just assumed she would take responsibility and at least attempt a fix. I was completely wrong.
My sister even called the shop and spoke with Christine to see if we could get some help, but to no avail. After several more attempts Zoey finally reached out to me.
I showed up for the appointment only to have Christine come over and insist I was making a big deal out of nothing. I felt harassed.
Zoey finally put me in a chair and worked on my eyebrows for an hour. She was successful at making them lighter.
What I don't understand is why they both had to belittle me when I was just asking for help with a mistake Zoey Made. I get it, everyone makes mistakes. But their total lack of compassion and empathy was uncalled for. In the end, I paid $90 to be treated...
