I had the crazy idea that I was going to make my own headboard using plywood, fabric, and batting. I came to Michael's and found fabric that I like, it was on a shelf that said 5.99-7.99. it took me 25 minutes to get somebody to come and cut it for me. I tried to purchase some batting as well but it was $30 for the size I needed so I passed on that, planning to buy it from Amazon instead. I headed for the register with my cut fabric. It took 25 minutes to check out because there were about eight people in line and only one register open. I was so glad to finally be leaving the store that I didn't pay enough attention to how much my total was until after the transaction was completed. When I was stepping out the door I realized I had paid 15.99 per yard for the fabric. So I immediately turned around and went back in to do a return. That took another 20 minutes. The woman who was trying to do the return tried very hard to get her manager to come and assist her and he refused. All in all I spent an hour and a half in the store and walked out empty-handed. It was very disappointing. Michael's is so short staffed, there are not enough people to properly run the store and take care of customers. Read moreThis review is exclusively for the framing department. I have been a frequent happy customer of theirs since 2020 but a recent experience has changed all that.
I brought in an image to have doubled matted and framed but when I picked it up and brought it home I noticed the picture starting to warp or wave. There were gaps between the picture and the matting.
I returned the picture and expressed concerns and the frame artist told me it was still within the 30 day warranty so they would fix it. I calmly told her to take all the time they needed and that I wasn’t in a rush.
When I came back it was still showing gaps between the picture and the matting. She gave an excuse or told me it was an illusion or something like that. I started to get upset. She said she could try something else to fix it but I was too upset because of the excuses or explanations she was giving so I calmly told her I was not happy and I won’t return. She simply said okay.
Never offered a refund or discount. Nothing for all my trouble and still not getting a quality product...
Read moreI went Southside store at 7:40PM and the two store associate were very unprofessional and didn’t seem they wanted to help. One was pretty much rushing me and when I asked her for assistance on a Christmas tree, she just told me that they were sold out. Then I started walking and there were the trees that she said they were sold out without even looking to make sure. She just didn’t want to assist me. Then I went to pay and I did not know that I had to check my own stuff and the associate right in front of me did not even acknowledge me to assist me. I asked her if I had to check my self out and in the beginning kinda ignore me. Until I asked her again, then without saying a word she just started scanning my stuff. I said to her why everyone was so rude and then she pretty much just half scan my stuff and walked away. This is my first time that I had gone to Michael’s and had the worst experience ever.
