don’t go to uBreakiFix go to Nothing But Tech Repairs in Jacksonville Beach (1500 Beach Blvd #117, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250)
In my opinion, uBreakiFix on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida, is nothing short of a SCAM designed to fleece customers. Let's start with how they lure you in with a bait and switch. They advertise these enticing price promotions, making it seem like you're getting a deal on repairs. But guess what? That's just the hook. Once you're in, they push you towards buying an insurance policy from their parent company, which is the real moneymaker for them.
The service itself? In my experience, it's substandard. The parking situation is a nightmare, the staff is disinterested at best, and the repair quality is ok at best. But that's not the worst part. The insurance they sell you? It's almost impossible to cancel. They make the process so convoluted, with endless holds and transfers when you try to get out of it, that you start to think it's designed that way on purpose.
Their entire business model seems centered around selling you this insurance. The repair service is just a facade to get you in the door. Once you're there, the push is relentless. They'll tell you all about how this insurance will save you from future woes, but in reality, it's just another way to siphon money out of your pocket. And if you do manage to cancel, they'll drag their feet, so you're still paying for months.
The pricing for repairs, once you're past the promotional bait, is exorbitant for the quality of work you receive.
They treat customer service like it's a myth, something to be whispered about but never seen. Communication is poor, repair times are deceptive, and the overall experience leaves you feeling like you've been taken for a ride. Their location looks like a rundown shop, which should be your first warning sign.
To wrap this up, in my view, uBreakiFix on Beach Boulevard isn't about fixing your devices; it's about fixing their bottom line through deceptive practices and aggressive insurance sales. If you're thinking about going there, think again. This place is a masterclass in how to scam consumers under the guise of service. Buyer...
Read moreUpdated Review: After getting home I saw an alert on my phone about an unrecognized part being installed on my phone. So, I called back and got their customer service, and they explained that there is an option to get an Apple certified part, but it was more expensive. The part that gets me though is that wasn't offered or explained in the store. After using the phone, the past few weeks, it has been behaving weirdly, such as the control center randomly displaying even though I haven't swiped to display it. So, if I ever have to do this again, I may go with the Apple certified option.
The real kicker happened today though. When I was in the store, I was told I could sign up for a free 30-day trial of their support program through Asurion, and they'd give me discount on the repair. Then I could cancel if I wanted before getting billed at the end of the trial. So, I did that. And today I called to cancel, because they give no option to cancel online. When a company forces you to call to cancel, you know you're going to get a sales pitch, and that's exactly what happened. It took me 2 calls (because they disconnected me the first time) 3 people, and 25 minutes to get my subscription cancelled. And they kept going on and on about all the benefits trying to get me to not cancel, even though I told them I wasn't interested. Then, on top of that, they told me there wasn't a trial and they were going to bill me. It remains to be seen if that happens, but if it does, I'll be challenging it with my credit card company. But bottom line, won't be doing business with this...
Read morevisited yesterday with a broken screen needing repair, however appears It may have also had a virus. They claim to test them at installation. However I had to return when i couldn't use the screen at all like normal. they said it was a setting and fixed it sent me on my way. Then i tried to text and couldn't see what was sending so i returned again. they said it was a virus and i should reset the phone. I am not tech savvy and or sure what i should of looked for as a proper backup before doing such a harsh none reversible action. the gentleman helping me looked we both saw it say 1/3/?? and he said you look good to go. well not so much i have lost all of my pictures. anything newer then august of 2021 gone. my company logos pictures of my new puppy as she has grown just gone. His lack of taking time to just help me through the steps has cost me something that can not ever be replaced. I would not recommend this company as each time they just would say well do this then walk away. they couldn't be bothered to take time to actually make sure it was fixed correctly and if that's beyond what they do at this place then referring me back to AT&T would of been better customer service. because when i mentioned in store it wasn't restoring right they said it takes time well 24 hours later Samsung confirms...
