I felt disappointed and upset on the customer service part. They simply do not care what other customers' think.
I went in to check out oranges and ham were on sale. It was listed on the CT website and on the printed newsletter.
At check out, the price came out at regular prices. The manager came by and told me that the prices are correct and the items I picked out are incorrect. He told me the promo price is the oranges on the right, the smaller oranges. I told him that the larger oranges were in front of the sign Navel. He says, nope, the smaller oranges were probably moved around into the basket. He was pretty adamant on the fact the smaller oranges were moved.
Ok, fine. I moved on. Next item that I picked out were Butterball Turkey Bacon (exact) name. On the website and newsletter it states "Butterball turkey bacon promo for 2 for $3. He told me, no that isn't the price. Look at the photo. It has a yellow label and it should be the regular one.
I took a photo of oranges placement to show him all the oranges were in from of the Navel sign. The smaller oranges doesn't have any sign. He repeated himself that they are 5 for $5 and not the promo price. I told him that I would like to complain to the store owner. He told me he is the store owner and I should complain to Trump. Sigh. I don't quite understand why would anyone says this. I am completely appalled.
Keep in mind, there is no other statement that it's exclusive to other type. On the newsletter it states the product and brand. It's not the customers' fault for not picking the wrong item out. I shop there ever since I moved here. It was my go to supermarket over other ones. I spent over $100 weekly. Today was the only time I planned on spending less as it wasn't my regular grocery shopping and the items were on sale. Now, I don't ever want to step my foot into this...
Read moreSince the new owners have taken over, the location has started slipping. Before, the meat and cheese were always fresh. Now, if they see you are interested in purchasing meat they wait until the old meat is gone before adding new selections. Since people have caught on to their little trick, they are starting something new. When your purchase a pack of meat, in between pieces you will find whole pieces of rotten meat, as happened to me when I purchased quartered chicken legs. In my experience, when you purchase cheese it should not crumble unless it is not fresh (e.g. storing cheddar in the freezer and rapidly melting); however the last times we have bought cheddar cheese it crumbles despite using a sharp knife to cut it. Also, if you arrive early--around two hours after the supermarket has opened--the man in charge of packing the new deli bread will take over an hour to place bread on the shelves and gets angry every time someone attempts to get bread from the recipient. Each time another employee walks by, he pretends to work faster and then completly stops working and hangs around after the employee passes them. This is honestly disappointing, I hope that they will improve the quality of their food instead of simply adding new food choices. Selling new selections does not justify selling rotten food, especially if you pack it so that customers do not realize the...
Read moreEdit: The things I have mentioned below this paragraph have somewhat changed for the better, but where they slightly cut prices, they increased them in ridiculous ways. Two non-organic chicken breasts cost $9. Three organic chicken breasts cost $21!!!!!!! They are still price gouging
Prices are way too expensive, a HALF gallon of organic milk is $9. The Duane Reade down the street sells that same exact brand and product for $6. Overcharging is consistent through the rest of the store.
No consistency with the products sold. They have some products for a week and then never again. Products are often not labeled with prices on the shelves or mislabeled. Often missing basic stuff, like how do you have 20 different products of the same type of rice but no cold brew, no Kalamata olives, no long stick lighters, and only two types of cookie dough ($7)?
Cashiers are often rude and speak very quietly. When you inevitably can’t understand what they are saying they sass you and finish checking you out with an attitude. They have also tried to overcharge me multiple times by not factoring in sales prices and charging me twice for the same product.
I want to be supportive of my only neighborhood supermarket, but they are taking advantage of it and price gouging. Things need to...
