Statue of Liberty Parking Lot #8 — Attraction in Jersey City

In all the years I’ve been alive I can say with absolute confidence that this is the stupidest parking system I’ve ever seen. My family and I got in our cars to leave at around 5:30 pm. It is now 7:10 pm and we are still in line trying to get out of the parking lot. I honestly don’t get how this hasn’t been changed. For the last however many years at least 100-200 families try to leave the parking facility every thirty minutes. But there are only 2 exits. 2 more ferried have come and all those cars have joined the queue to try to leave as we are waiting in line. The majesty and awe of seeing Lady Liberty was dampened by the frustration of trying to leave the parking space. Y’all make a ton of money on parking revenue and ferry rides. Why cant you put in a couple more exits!? At 7:20 pm we finally made...

The customer service experience purchasing tickets for the ferry or obtaining information was awful: the woman pictured here (I think Nafeesha) treated us like farm cattle: and pretended the fact that there were no crown tickets available also meant there were no ferry tickets! She then proceeded to return to her seat and kicked her feet up on her desk and bossed her coworker around. When I accused her of not working or doing what her job title mandates, she instantly looked at me shocked, stood up and proceeded to patrol the hallway and pretended she’s been working. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the pier. When you get to the pier, make sure you head into the building and on the side to the ticket booth. Once the tickets are purchase, you have to continue to walk straight and take a pretty high detour to the security gate. It’s like passing through airport security. The continues to the pier with no shelter or cover so on a hot/rainy day, make sure you have a hat or umbrella cause it can be a hit or wait so best to check the arrival time...
