5 stars and more if I could!!! Khoa and his team are friendly, approachable, and of course professional. His work is clear and precise, and I love the way he is able to create images that are bright and vivid. Here is our experience!

Before wedding day: We first inquired with Khoa to shoot our wedding day, and although we couldn't meet in person, he was flexible to chat over the phone. He even had his teammate phone, Hendrick, on the phone call. As a bride, you really want to get to "know" your wedding team and this was perfect. We had a connection right away, and this connection continued through the wedding process and the wedding day, and even now months after the wedding. He patiently listened to our wedding vision, gave helpful advice, and relayed all this information to his other main shooter, Hendrick.

On wedding day: They arrived promptly, of course. Hendrick showed up, and quickly intro'd me to the rest of the team, who were all friendly and cordial, never intimidating. That morning I was so frazzled with hair/makeup, breakfast, my "first look", and overall mood and anxiety -- but once Hendrick and the rest of the team showed up, I immediately felt at ease. He coached me to pose like this and like that. Then it was time to head to the park for outdoor photos -- and Hendrick and team drove my groom and the guys to get started, so that the girls and myself could have the limo to ourselves and meet them at the park. What smart thinking!!!

Arrival to venue: Our families met us there, and previously one of our main requests was to have someone speaking the language with our elders. Hendrick was perfect and was not afraid to shout instructions in Chinese at our guests, at our request! Needless to say, the night flew by, and the team, Hendrick all stayed way past the contracted time, just to chat, finish last minute shots, and hang out. It is important to note here that Khoa showed up despite it being late at night, and although he was booked elsewhere on our particular date -- what kind of photog/friend/team leader does that? THIS GUY! Dedication, passion, and commitment sums it up.

Post-wedding/Delivery: Khoa delivered ALL photos in less than 3 weeks. UNDER ONE MONTH!!! All photos were crisp, brilliant, and sharp. Between Hendrick and the other shooters, they captured things we did not even get to see on our own wedding day, so very thankful for that. Then, I decided to get two parents' albums and Khoa tirelessly helped arrange and rearrange the photos into the beautiful leather albums.

As soon as I was able to (after I got engaged in September 2015), I connected with 1314 via email to inquiry about my fiance and I doing our engagement photo shoot with them. From the very first email I received from Khoa and Emily, there was no doubt in my mind that I chose the right place :) They were both extremely professional and took their time to answer my one million and one questions thoughtfully and clearly, leaving no room for confusion/uncertainty. Once we decided on Hoboken being our location and November being our month to do this - they continued their professionalism by clearly outlining how the day would go. We explained to them that we wanted both daytime photos (shot in our casual attire) and evening photos (shot in our more dressy/fancy attire) and they were accommodating and more than willing to work with us. The day finally came -- Both Khoa and Emily were on time and ready to go which made for an easy, relaxed (not-rushed) start. They had already scoped out the locations were we'd take our photos (prior to our meeting) so moving from location to location within Hoboken was no issue at all. At first, my fiance and I were nervous about being in front of the camera and the first few shots we took were a bit "stiff looking" and not natural whatsoever. But with Khoa's and Emily's patience, guidance and sense of humor, my fiance and I were able to open up, relax and just have fun :) They didn't rush the shoot, were patient while we changed our clothes from casual to formal and at no point did they seem "too tired or too lazy" to make sure they got only the best shots out of us. If a shot wasn't good - they would ask us to redo it until it was perfect !!

When the photos were ready and sent to us via email - they were PERFECTLY edited/re-touched. We look like a better version of ourselves. The photos weren't heavily photo shopped/edited which my fiance and I loved.

I would recommend 1314 Studio to any friends, family or complete strangers. Khoa and Emily are AMAZING at what they do and you can feel their passion and dedication when working with them.

My fiance and I love 1314 SO much and were so pleased with our photos that we're planning on doing another engagement photo shoot with them this spring. We're looking forward to another fun photo session :)

We've found our one and only photography studio and we hope to be able to have them capture more beautiful moments for us down the line :)

My wife and I hired 1314 Studio, under the direction of Khoa Nguyen, to provide videography services for our wedding events at the end of November/early December. A written contract was signed between us and Khoa Nguyen, head of the company, confirming the terms we agreed on (3–5 minute cinematic highlight video and 3 documentary-style long edits).

We had paid the FULL amount according to the contract. Around the scheduled delivery time for the trailer video, we contacted Khoa for an update. He responded 2–3 days later and demanded additional money, claiming it was required because our wedding exceeded the originally agreed coverage hours. He threatened that if we did not pay, the trailer video would be removed from Vimeo. Concerned about losing these precious memories, we paid the requested amount immediately.

When it came time to deliver the long edits, we made repeated attempts to contact Khoa via his personal number and the company’s main line, left voicemails, sent text messages, and even sent physical certified mail with return receipt—but received no response. This is not a dispute over a small amount like $100 or $200 — it involves thousands of dollars. More importantly, it concerns irreplaceable memories of our wedding, moments we hoped to preserve and one day share with our children.

It has now been 10 months since our wedding, and despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter, we have not received a refund nor our wedding footage from Khoa and his team. The emotional distress and damage caused by this situation have been significant. To this day, Khoa Nguyen has not responded to our claims and now says he doesn't remember us. Even more concerning is that he continues to operate his business as reviews online show – failing to fulfill previous contracts and repeating the same behavior he demonstrated with us. We cannot allow this pattern to continue and affect more people. To prevent further harm to other clients, I am writing this review about my experience with 1314 Studio.
