The Village Antique & Home Decor Mall — Attraction in Johnson City

Hubby and I really enjoyed ourselves looking around at all the booths. Clean store and friendly staff. My hubby picked out what we thought were Jadeite salt and pepper shakers. This vender had a spot where there was a group of kitchen accessories in Jadeite. We are very new to the antique scene so live and learn... I thought they were lovely and in perfect condition so that should have been a red flag but because we are newbies we made our purchase and when we got home is when I noticed...made in China !! My heart sunk ! Yes, I like the shakers but this is something I could have bought at any store or online. So....beware !!! Walk the other way if U can find "made in China" at an antique store. I visit Johnson City, Elizabethton and Bristol locations regularly. Love these stores! Johnson city employees are hit and miss as far as being friendly. In all stores there are the AMAZING booths which are unfortunately very high priced. I daydream in these and move on to purchase in others. Also, sometimes there are " sales" in some booths which seem fantastic until you see that the prices were obviously marked way up to compensate- I avoid buying in these also. Village Antiques has several locations. Bristol and Sevierville are my favorite. My family and I have spent thousands in here and have enjoyed every minute of it, except for the one in Johnson City. An extremely snobby, hateful and deplorably rude, short blond woman works there. I will never shop there again. I will tell ALL my anitiquing friends NOT to shop this location only.
