Roughly 2 years ago I brought in my laptop to try and fix a slow-running hard drive that I believed had a virus on it. The shop tried to fix it but claimed the "virus" was making the hard drive too slow to fix anything. So I made the final request that they attempt to save a few important files that I didn't want to lose but they couldn't do that either claiming it was "too slow" after a couple days of "trying". I cut my losses and took back my computer but they still charged me a hefty "labor" fee around 90$ even though they accomplished nothing. Fast forward to now and I manage to save the files I wanted back then by simply putting the faulty hard drive in another laptop and restoring from there. Now that is quite frustrating in itself in how they failed to do something that I was able to do with little computer knowledge but here is the kicker! Today I opened up the same laptop I brought in to the shop to discover that several of the motherboard screws were missing. Parts with no screws were held in place by cheap yellow masking tape. Essentially I was robbed in more ways than one. Not only did Efix charge me a ridiculous amount for doing absolutely nothing to help me, but they stole several screws out of my computer and left behind a cheap masking tape substitute. I know for a fact that this shop is the culprit because they are the only place that I have ever had my computer taken apart at! The masking tape is also very old and brittle which is consistent with the time elapsed of the visit. I don't know if they do this to any devices other than computers so I wouldn't recommend coming here at all. You're better off doing intense research on how to fix your own device first before you even consider going to this shop. Had I found out about this theft immediately after the visit I would've taken legal action. If you planned to visit this E-fix location, don't. If you already have, then check your devices for any missing screws or parts IMMEDIATELY regardless of the nature of the issue that required you to leave your device in their possession for a prolonged period of time. I personally believe after that experience that the people of this shop are predators that prey on individuals who know little to nothing about electronics so they can overcharge them for simple fixes and possibly steal a few coveted components along the way. Steer clear and fix it on your own or find a more trustworthy repair place. Even best buy is more reputable than this place.
TL;DR I discovered missing screws in my computer 2 years after my initial visit and was able to do more than the shop on my own. Was also charged 90$ for a "labor fee" even though they failed to help my issue. Thieves...
Read moreFirst off I am not one to write reviews I leave it up to everyone else. But the fact that my friend was driving by in this place caught her eye because she thought it was open prompted her to call me and tell me that there is a place open late to fix my phone. I have long hours so I've had my broken iPhone 6 that was new broken for two months so far being a expensive paperweight. I called and they said they were closed that they just forgot to bring in the manikin out front with the sign. However he offered alternates when he heard my schedule to bring it in tomorrow or even that they could come pick it up at my work. None of those really work for me then he offered to have someone meet me at the store at 11 o'clock at night no extra charge no hidden fees to fix it for the same price as they would in the day. I jumped in my car and ran over there as soon as I could I had tried to fix my phone myself which didn't work out so well so I brought A box of iPhone pieces she didn't get angry lol but she excepted the challenge. She tried to replace the screen and it wouldn't turn on so she took the extra time to go back in and solder parts that she assumed could be the next troubleshooting to get my phone back in working order. I greatly appreciate it it figuring out how it's now 1130 and she should've just said sorry and sent me home or charged more, however she remained very very nice friendly great conversation while I was waiting and she came back upfront with my phone fixed I was more than thrilled seeing how I have bad luck and was just waiting to be told that we could not have it working and I felt I have wasted her time and mine. I cannot begin to express how grateful and thankful I was that they were able to fix my phone at a very very very reasonable price and after hours on top of it and not being upset at all that they had to come after hours. I'm going to recommend this place to all of my friends who break their phones and keep their cards on me in case I ever see anyone with a broken phone just to make sure that they stay in business because they deserve it and word-of-mouth goes along way now a days. If anybody had a bad review on here every situation is different so for my experience I had the best situation I could've had and could've asked for!!! The fact that they still went out of their way to help a first time customer that late for something most would consider a small problem that could wait for regular business hours goes a very long way. Good people good business and I couldn't of asked for more thank...
Read moreI took my laptop in a few months ago because the screen wouldn't work and they told me the motherboard was bad and the laptop was trash so I bought a new one from them for $175. I ended up taking it back the next day because the computer was broken and would not even boot up. They fixed it (supposedly) and I got it back but a few days later the laptop had the same problem and wouldn't boot up. So I went back as much as 4 times during a course of 4 weeks because the laptop they sold me was junk and didn't work. After the 4th time I took it back they tried to scam me again saying the laptop was past it's 30 day warranty and there was nothing they could do but sell me another computer, or I could pay for them to replace the motherboard and hard drive on the first laptopthey sold me. I finally talked the owner into giving me another computer for free as the one they sold me was broken before I bought it for $175. I also bought a pair of iPhone 5 ear buds from them on my last visit to efix but after the first use I realized they were broken. My opinion of this electronic repair store it's that their inventory is nothing but broken electronic junk, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. On the good side they did fix my broken Iphone 4s glass back side for 20$ it was fast and convenient but that it's the only good techie I...
