Officially one of my favorite place in Juneau!

I love gin and I came with my brother who isn't a huge fan of gin, but this place really changed his mind! We didn't know what to expect walking in, and found out all the gin is made in house (even their ginger beer).

When we came in, we asked for some samples and the lady was SOO helpful, she gave us testers of everything! I got the Sea Donkey because of its unique taste. I realize after that it taste similar to a Moscow mule (hence its name?)

My brother ordered the gin & tonic because it's the perfect gin / tonic balance. It's not too sweet and it's very smooth and soothing. It's more floral than woody.

The ambience around is great, be sure to get a whiff of the jars with all the different type of scents.

Ps love how the entire place smells like...

I visited Amalga Distillery on the hearty recommendations of many Juneau locals. I am a proud, loud Bourbon loving girl! But, on this particular day, there was no bourbon to be had at Amalga. It was all Gin and only Gin. I am not a gin fan; however, after my experience—-let’s just say, Amalga rocked. The service was stupendous. I was given samples, education and an experience that might have turned this bourbon Loving Girls Heart into a Gin fan.

I ended up having not one but TWO gin drinks. My favorite was the Bees Knees. Refreshing, spritzy, honey and citrus ; summertime in a glass.

The decor and ambience were welcoming, the merchandise lovely…cocktails in a can and bottles to go…If the Gin is representative of their products…I will definitely be back and back and back….(waiting for...

The Juniper Gin is smooth and crisp. I appreciate the local flavor craft cocktails using ingredients like Rhubarb, spruce tips, raspberries, etc. The canned cocktails are a great grab and go option as well.

I had to dock a star because on heavy cruise passenger days this place almost feels impossible to sit and relax and enjoy your drink. It’s loud and there is seemingly never more than a chair available to sit and sip your drink.

It’s definitely better when it’s just locals but, can’t say it’s a place to just hang out and catch up.

The tasting room itself is aesthetically pleasing. I enjoy the variety in chair space and ability to people watch.

I’ll save it for non-cruise ship days and enjoy the canned...

This place did not dissappoint. They have a great selection of mixed drinks on tap. The limit is 2 drinks, since its a distillery. I tried the gin and tonic for $5 and the lavender rickey for $7.50. Both were excellent. #juneau #alaska #fyp #travel #explore #adventure #gin #tonic #ginandtonic #distillery #local
