Crystal Saloon — Restaurant in Juneau

The Crystal Saloon just might become my favorite bar in downtown Juneau, but honestly any bar that Stu is working is my favorite bar. However it does help that the Crystal has been having the best live music with plenty of room to dance! The ambience of the place is further enhanced by the presence of bartenders Stu and Logan. Stu is an excellent bartender. He's been my favorite bartender for as many years as I've lived in Juneau. I don't usually order off the menu, because this talented mixologist knows me and makes the best cocktails catered to my taste. Logan is a charismatic soul who is easy to talk with. The free flowing conversation will have you feeling like you've been friends for years. If you hit the jackpot, you'll have the pleasure of being served by these brilliant individuals in the same shift...and have an inside look into their bromance. I definitely recommend checking out the Crystal Saloon. The owner has a big vision for the space and will be opening different areas of the building as renovations are completed. my boyfriend and i live in juneau and we always used to go to this bar to play darts. Last week, my boyfriend gave the bartender his ID to play games. Upon finishing, we come to realize the bartenders have lost my boyfriends id in the 15 minutes it took to play darts. We calmly asked the bartender (who was visibly high, intoxicated and on mushrooms) to call the other bartender who took the ID. The bartender (who was so intoxicated he had no idea what was going on) proceeded to gaslight us and yell at my boyfriend that his ID was in his own wallet (shocking, it was not there). He sent us downstairs to check in with the other bartender, and we were met with more hostility. she immediately yelled (really, she yelled) that she was closed and we have to leave that side of the bar immediately. we explained the situation to her and she continued to be vile. I have never been gaslit the way I was gaslit at this establishment and we are never going to return.

I frequently visited The Crystal Saloon during the summer of 2023 while working seasonally. The events were enjoyable, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Returning for another season, I noticed they now have a kitchen. Many of the bartenders are amazing. However, during my time away, I stayed in touch with some of them and learned troubling information that has led me to decide not to return for events, games, or drinks. Two current bartenders have been reported as predators and abusive towards female patrons and staff. Additionally, I was informed of a disturbing incident involving the owner, Jared Cure. At the end of last summer, he allowed a seasonal worker, Zach, to brutally assault his partner, who also worked at The Crystal. Despite the incident being caught on camera within the bar, Jared chose not to report it to avoid potential backlash and protect his liquor license.
