A Hidden Gem in Juneau: Hadley at Heritage Coffee

Tucked away from the bustling cruise ship crowds, Heritage Coffee offers the perfect respite for travelers seeking an authentic taste of Juneau’s local charm. What makes this quaint coffee spot truly special isn’t just its cozy atmosphere, it’s the exceptional service from staff like Hadley, who transforms a simple coffee run into a memorable experience. When Hadley recommended the Strawberry Amaretto White Mocha Latte, I’ll admit I was skeptical. It’s not something I would have ever chosen from the menu, but her enthusiasm was infectious. That recommendation turned out to be nothing short of brilliant, this unique creation has completely won me over, and I honestly can’t imagine ordering anything else on future visits.

The drink pairs beautifully with their fresh blueberry scone, creating a combination that perfectly captures the essence of Alaska’s local flavors. The attention to detail in both the food and beverages reflects the care this hometown establishment puts into every aspect of their service.

What strikes you immediately is the genuine warmth of the staff and their impressively fast service, despite the obvious care they put into each order. The smiles are authentic, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the whole experience feels like a warm hug from Juneau itself.

For anyone visiting Alaska, Heritage Coffee isn’t just a coffee stop, it’s an essential part of the journey. This little haven offers exactly what weary travelers need: exceptional coffee, delicious treats, friendly faces, and a few precious minutes of tranquility away from the tourist hustle. It’s earned a permanent spot on my Alaska itinerary, and I suspect it will become a cherished tradition for many...

I am a tourist in Alaska. Last week I ordered for Coffee Toffee which is displayed on your board. I was super impressed by the flavor decided to get another one today. I bought my friend with me told her she has to try this amazing flavor. So at the counter I ordered for two coffee toffee I clearly told her. I even showed her on the board. After waiting for quite a few min I was served Pink ugly strawberry milkshake. I approached one of the lady there and told her this is not what I ordered. She was rude - she said that's what I ordered. She said alright mam i will make u your flavor but it is gonna take while, to which I agreed because I only came back for that flavor. As she noticed the queue was getting longer she changed her statement saying that the flavor coffee toffee doesn't exit. They don't serve that flavor. I asked then Y is it displayed on the board, also I ordered for this flavor last week and they served this is y i am back to have the same flavor. She even refused to listen. I could clearly see that she was lying and she was rude wasn't helpful. The worst part she promised and made me waiting but later she changed her statement. I did not wanted to stand their and argue so I gave up seeking these young kids lying. And the girls were not ready to give my receipt. Isn't it the standard to give a receipt. I had to asked for it. They also made me wait for my receipt. What ever happened there was a total bully, because I was a tourist. I had a bad day in Heritage...

I have only been here once, so I may have caught them on a bad day, but I did not have the greatest experience. Upon entering, I asked to use the restroom, and was told that someone had stolen the key, so I couldn't use it and would have to go across the street and up two flights of stairs to use a public restroom inside the mall.

Upon returning, my brother told me that a different employee had just given the key to a friend, and told them where their bathroom was. Now either the key was found in the 5 minutes I was gone, or the girl flat-out lied to me.

I ordered a brewed coffee anyway, and was pretty disappointed. The coffee was really darkly roasted. No option for a lighter roast. I know that is just my preference, but it would be nice to have the option. I could barely drink it with a heavy amount of cream.

If their coffee alone had been a disappointment, I wouldn't have bothered posting a negative review because I understand that is a matter of preference. I hope that they adjust their service mentality to be more customer oriented. I'm not a local, and I understand that tourists can wear on locals' patience, but when that is your primary source of income, you should be a bit more interested in making their stay...

So, first of all, the coffee is delicious. However, go to the other branch around the corner where the service is polite. Super rude people here. Also, I waited here for about 45 minutes, and the guy and girl behind the counter were just chatting it up, and never bothered to clean the tables. I asked if the other (clean) section was open, and was told no. So I literally had to move someone else's trash aside so I could sit somewhere.
