Seaside Inn — Attraction in Kemah

I do not recommend this Inn. Very outdated bed and breakfast that doesn't serve breakfast. We stayed in room 5 and it was in desperate need of updating and was not a functional area for comfort or relaxation. ||||Negatives:||- Bed was so high I had to jump to get into it and I'm 5'7||- Love seat looked okay until you sat down and sank to the floor because the springs were broken. ||- The coffee table was a metal plate that had edges so you couldn't play games or do anything on it, purely there for looks.||- The only place to sit in the room was the broken love seat or the too high bed.||- Cleaning service consisted of emptying the garbage can if you requested it and replacing towels if you threw them on the floor.||- The one garbage can in the room was the smallest can on the market. Think the small bathroom or office waste baskets available at dollar stores. ||- You could put your food in the community fridge but couldn't use anything else in the community kitchen unless you paid an extra $150||- Check in time is 3 and not a minute earlier unless you pay $25 an hour or portion of an hour. All communication is done by test messaging, we arrived 20 mins early and they ignored me until they sent a non-personal text message with the code at exactly 3. I have never stayed at any place that does this. If the room is ready and you're a bit early they let you in.||- You have to pay in full 72 hours before you get there which she told me was normal in the US but I've stayed in lots of places in the US and have never been asked to pay in full before my stay. They always pre-authorize my card but don't charge it until check-out.||- Dressers were very old and should of been in a museum or at least made to be usable. The insides were falling apart and had items from a previous guest. The handles on some of the drawers were broken off and didn't even open.||- The room had no mini-fridge, no microwave, no blow dryer, no phone, only the one garbage can, no recycle bin||- The hot tub in the room was old and upon use was very loud and sounded like it was going to fall apart.||||Positives:||- A view of the bay ||- Walking distance to restaurants and...

We have been staying at this place for the past 3yrs for New Years Eve. We look forward to staying here every year. Except for this year....this year was different. The people that run this place are something else. We have read all the house rules and abided by them. We had guests over on the second floor enjoying the fireworks and hanging out for New Year’s Eve. About 3am the owner comes up out of nowhere threatening that Kemah PD has contacted them about a noise complaint. Reminder...we were not being loud at all just having casual conversations amongst us. This lady has the audacity to tell me to go inside because of the complaint. We have never had this kind of trouble before and will never be visiting again. I can understand if we were banging loud music and being obnoxious at 3am but we were nowhere near that. Needless to say we checked out at 4am and went home. If you like party and do not go to bed at a decent time I do not recommend staying here. We will no longer stay at this place and hope that the next person that stays does not experience this.
