If it were possible I would select half a star. My experience here began quite positively with a warm, welcoming greeting followed by genuine interest in helping me both finding the supplies that brought me to craft warehouse initially, as well as in my project itself. The vast array of interesting, creativity-stimulating items and materials is truly remarkable. I had time to spare after finding what I came for, so I happily allowed my wonder and fascination to guide me in hopes of finding more items for other projects and to absorb some of the precious stimulation I mentioned above...the utter farce immediately following that decision not only left me stunned and deeply uninspired, it struck me with a lasting and saddening sense of disappointment and dismay. The woman who greeted me was suddenly appearing nearby at all turns, blatantly peering at my hands. She made little to no effort to conceal her flagrant, obvious assumption that my intention was to shoplift. Stealing happens a lot in craft supplies stores due to high pricing, I understand this. But that's what surveillance equipment and loss prevention technologies are for, and this store is in plentiful supply of that; every shelf is made with locks that prevent every item from being removed- you can't even pick things up to read the back! Furthermore, if this woman was not basically on my shoulders repeating questions feigning microscopic facade of help, she was at the end of every isle watching me, making feeble attempts to appear to be busy. If I were some lowlife that wanted to steal things, it would have been a challenge here. This woman and her ridiculous, warped idea of "loss prevention" and abysmal profiling skills decimated my interest in anything I could have bought at her store. I Went around the corner to HB and got everything I needed and more, without being profiled as a guilty thief and being treated as such, for $17 instead of paying...
Read moreThe whole time I was shopping, I had to listen to the employee cutting fabric talking loudly and at great length about how people my age (mid to late twenties):
are all "lazy and don't want to do any work" "god forbid they have to work during school" (you try working three jobs AND going to class) are "the problem with society"
Lady, how nice that you think the world is so easy for me. You're very ready to generalize and judge a whole group of people out loud, at work, on the clock.
One person up front was sympathetic, but I got the impression that most of the employees are fine with that kind of behavior and agree with those opinions.
She has every right to her personal beliefs, but there's an appropriate time and place to discuss them. Like, not at work.
I won't be back. I prefer to support stores where the employees at least pretend they don't think I'm worthless.
Fabric lady, I know you'll keep doing this with no consequences. But I hope you at least consider having the decency to indulge in your prejudice quietly. I just...
Read moreMy parents just moved to the area a year ago and I've been wanting to go to the Craft Warehouse so bad and yesterday was our opportunity to go and boy do I wish we wouldn't have. My husband and I walked in separately because I couldn't find my phone so by the time I got into the store he was already half done lol. I started on the first row and immediately Kelly felt it necessary to not only follow me but literally trip over me to see if I was shoplifting, I'm assuming anyway. At first I didn't care because I wasn't stealing so go ahead watch me all you want but it got so blatant she was literally saying sorry every 3 or 4 mins cuz she was in my way or tripping over me so finally I got pissed and took my cart and zoomed away to find my husband across the store. I started to tell him what was going on and guess who was right there next to us? You guessed it, Kelly! So needless to say, we left our treasures right there in our cart and were gone after about 20 mins of harassment. Went to HL and got everything I wanted....
