Our wedding date was September 6th 2015 and I want to tell you about 2 sides of Soundwave, their DJ side and then they also offer videography services that are AMAZING! I apologize for being so long winded with this review but I could write a novel on how fabulous they are and how beyond happy we are with how magical and perfect they made our wedding day!!

Lets talk DJ first......

I had actually booked another DJ for our wedding reception but for some reason I felt the need to keep searching on-line and kept going back to DJ Jimmy's website. I started this wedding process thinking I knew everything and that it would be easy to pick the best vendors and as I got closer to our wedding date I started to realize just how important it is to find likeminded people who share your vision, personality style and want to make you happy.

2 weeks before our wedding I cancelled our contract with our original DJ and crossed my fingers that DJ Jimmy would have the date available and be able to take our wedding on. Well... the odds were in our favor and with it being a holiday weekend, we were able to sign a contract and plan everything from the unique wedding party intros to exactly what I wanted and needed for dinner and dancing music so quickly.

I had already hired his sister-n-law and wife a year earlier to be our photographer and videographer and have to say that the flow of the photos, video and music was seamless!! Check out their family affair package!

I had provided him with a list of songs to play during dinner and heard all of our requests played even the local hits from Hawaii where Jef & I met and fell in love! Jimmy was spot on and kept the energy up for our reception and kept our guests on the dance floor which is very hard with the majority of our wedding guests having 2 left feet! We all danced the night away and I couldn't of been happier with my last minute change and the professionalism and energy of DJ Jimmy with Soundwave!!

He also provided my uplighting which I highly recommend as it adds a great feel and atmosphere to the room!

Now can I tell you about the most incredible wedding video they have produced for us! FIRST AND FOREMOST!! The best words of wisdom for our wedding came from my mother in law who said no matter the cost...... "HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER!" She was absolutely right! Hands down the best money we spent!!!

I started working with Joanna last year as I knew I wanted her videography service as I had seen and loved her work. When I met her in May I knew she was our girl as her personality was so professional yet incredibly genuine and bubbly.

We've now been married for almost 2 weeks and I've watched my 5 minute wedding teaser video about a MILLION times as I believe of course that it's the BEST video she's ever put together ;) She was able to convey our love and our personality in this video and I can't wait to see the full version!!!! Every time I watch it I notice different things about what went on and what happened that photos will NEVER be able to convey and I also realized that she did such a wonderful job of

1. Knowing where to position herself so that you don't even realize she's there and when you watch the video you can't believe that she filmed that moment.

2. Getting us our teaser video immediately. We were 2 days into our honeymoon when she sorted through 7 hrs of footage, broke it down, set it to music and emailed us so we could relive our day as it really goes by so quickly in a blur that without the video, it's hard to remember all the little moments.

Joanna is just amazing and we couldn't be any happier with both her and her husband who really exceeded our expectations and made an already incredible day even...

One of the single best decisions of our wedding planning journey (an extra long one due to a COVID postponement) was picking Joanna and Jim as our videographer + DJ duo for our wedding in Key West. VIDEO: I picked Joanna as our videographer because I appreciated her package offering of multiple hours of footage between the ceremony, reception, full speeches, etc. in addition to the shorter highlight video (approx 6 minutes) and social media video (approx 1 minute). I found that many other videographers only offered the latter two options and we were thrilled to receive the full offering from SoundWave. Now onto the quality of video - we received our highlight video yesterday and have already watched it 10x - we are obsessed! She picked the most beautiful moments from our wedding day and those she knew would be most special to us. The quality of the video (footage, angles, lighting, shots at all the unique wedding day moments) truly shows the work of a true artist. Joanna blew away our expectations of how gorgeous and perfect a wedding video could be and it was worth every cent. I should also add she is an absolute JOY to work with - one of the nicest, funniest, fun people who knew exactly how to direct us around on our day while also feeling like part of our family. We especially loved how her sister Bernadette was our wedding coordinator because it truly felt like our families merged on the day of! DJ: When I learned that Joanna + Jim were a husband + wife duo, we LOVED the idea of having them both working our event. Jim put together the most epic playlist perfectly catered to our tastes - I would not change one song that was played! His music request form is perfectly crafted to help weed out exactly what we wanted to hear and he delivered exactly that. Our wedding was cut from 150 to 20 people due to COVID but we had every person up and dancing the whole night - from a tropical house cocktail hour into Sinatra for dinner, a Motown + Abba dance floor, an impromptu Hamilton musical bouquet toss into an Avicii/Daft Punk "rave hour"....we had ages 5-75 on the dance floor until Casa shut us down. I also want to share a meaningful moment that meant the world to my husband and I and shows the true character of these two - on our original wedding date (May 2020) Joanna + Jim facetimed us from our venue to say a "hi from Key West" - above and beyond to make us feel like part of their family and made our long-awaited postponed wedding day all the more special with them being part of our day. Words can not describe how absolutely happy this team made us on our wedding day. We used both Jimmy as our DJ and Joanna as our Videographer from Soundwave. Individual reviews below.

DJ Jimmy kept the dance floor full the entire time! I have to say that planning this wedding completely out of town and never seeing him in action, I was incredibly nervous. But speaking to them on the phone and through emails... I knew he was the one! He made the process from afar so easy and never skipped a beat on the day of. Every detail, from the ceremony to cocktail hour, the announcements, first dances, and our reception was absolute perfection. He went above and beyond and included our guests in everything, including DJ'ing with him. I even emailed him once regarding some nightmares I was having and he laughed while responding not to worry everything will be great! I can't say enough about how wonderful he really wise! We had a very large destination wedding consisting of a crazy Pittsburgh crew of 130 people in attendance. We love to dance and party. He created that atmosphere perfectly. He catered to everything we asked of too without hesitation. So easy to work with all around.

Videographer Joanna and her team KILLED IT. She literally entered the room the day of the wedding and just made everything so exciting with her adoring and positive personality. She also made us laugh the entire time with her amazing one liners, but these puppies made it so easy to remember what to do and what not to do as a bride! I loved it! She captured every moment and gave the best instructions all day long. We received everything also in a very timely manner, and the music she accompanied everything with was beyond perfection. We also were able to participate in the behind the scenes Instagram footage. BEST IDEA EVER! All of our loved ones who were unable to attend got to see everything that occurred from our home in Pittsburgh. Joanna and her team captured every moment, and worked with whatever we wanted the whole way through. Even my crazy jump up and down of pure excitement moments.
