Mother & Daughters' Outing

My mother, sister, and I, took a road trip to the closest Ollie's to Austin, TX. a couple of days ago. We found it just as described from their website, "Good stuff cheap!" But we also found, that many household "everyday" products we use, were the same price in the Austin Metroplex Area. I "found" an adequate size rug for my living space, a couple of royal blue lamps, a Wedding Anniversary card, a few pictures, books, but was unable to get a matching floor runner or a set of matching Victorian lamp shades. You've got to be aware of "blowouts." 👍👍 Ollie's has a huge inventory (especially rugs---so HUGE! I put my ph😁ne down) and several blowout sales were going on last Saturday, August 27, 2022. So, we suggest you put on your good walking shoes, and take a road trip with your family, girlfriend, crew, etc.

NOTE: I was surprised to see more men shopping, but since "the base" is close by, it's common. It had been my experience, that men DO NOT like wasting time on Saturday's to go shopping, but these men "love a good bargain" as well. I'm always glad to see couple's shopping too!

Once you find this Ollie's, there are several restaurants surrounding it and all the shops close by. We are grateful to Killeen. So, my family chose Chili's.🌶

FYI: The Store Manager who was so kind and helpful to all, informed me (after I asked), that the reason Austin D🔴ES N🔴T have an Ollie's is because of the rent. She said, "If they'd come down on their rent, they would've had an Ollie's already."

Minor C🙃ns: When you first drive up, Ollie's looks very budget! The windows are covered with bleached out sales advertisements, so it makes the store look uninviting. And, once you get inside, it's a warehouse filled to the full, but clean. • Check for blowouts on their website. P.S. If you're N🔴T a local, check for accidental damage (i. e. scratches, broken picture frames, or missing parts, etc.) before you leave the dpt....

I really do love shopping for Good bargains. Ollie's is a good store for this purpose. But. I went in today and purchased a large carpet, and waited around looking to make certain I was going to get the one I really wanted. Finally I had been seeing people that work there walk around plenty before approaching a couple, young man, and young lady working there.I needed the price on a carpet he said he needed to get his scanner. Np. . After telling my the price, I told him I would like one of these, ge said fine, and left immediately. Nobody there to help me load it in cart , are even in my car. I told 2 girls talking at register I needed help with it, they were like np. The one that appointed herself to help me disappeared Right before I finished checking out. So sad, I had to do it by myself hurting the whole time, and probably will have to take extra time tomorrow for rest. My bad back is No joke. But, they all seemed perfectly fine with not worrying over whether I was a happy...

5 stars! Selection is always changing BUT despite being an outlet store this one is good! It's always cleaned up and organized. They always have what seems to be enough employees and call more cashiers up when it gets busy. The items are a great deal. I found a lot of healthier food that is normally 5 or 6 bucks each and ollies had plenty for $2 or under each. Toiletries are also a good deal they have bargain stuff, drug store stuff, and nicer brands so there is something for everyone. Coffee and energy drinks lately have had a ton of great brands and good flavors you really can't beat the prices. I stop in often as the inventory changes and try to pick up stuff here and it's helped me save a lot of money versus shopping at target...
