I was nervous about our first trip to Naswa resort because I had read negative reviews about the resort needing updating and it being a loud, party place. When we first pulled in I was again nervous because the music from the restaurant was quite loud in our 2 bedroom cabin. However, it proved to be a non-issue over the week we stayed. The music turns off promptly at 9 when the restaurant closes (10 on weekends) and it’s actually quiet in the later hours, even on July 4th. There were occasionally very loud guests walking drunkenly back to their rooms/cabins so if you do stay there, please be mindful the cabins can hear you like you’re in the room and kids are sleeping. The cabins could use a little loving. The windows are in bad shape and most didn’t open, we’re covered in splintered paint and wood, screens in bad shape, etc. We used the AC later in the day and overnight so it wasn’t that big a deal but that, and improving the bathroom and kitchen would change everything because it is rather dated as a whole. Never-the-less, we loved our stay. The staff are spectacular, the beachfront is cute (the angle they have the beach chairs is actually really funny), and we loved being able to dock our boat right at the resort dock. We’d spend our evenings on our little cabin porch just watching the boats coming and going. We’d definitely stay again.

I am usually writing good reviews due to our excellent travel karma, but this time we hit a snag. First, the front desk and restaurant does get five stars, the staff here is amazing, very accommodating and professional. But the overall hotel, motel, suites, resort, gets a two star at best. The room clearly has not been remodeled since the mid 70s, as you can see by my pictures, there is a drop ceiling in our deluxe suite with the most unforgiving fluorescent lights mounted in the ceiling. There is wood paneling all around, the carpeting is at least 30 years old and the entire room smells like cigarette smoke, even though it was non-smoking. Clearly the smoke smell is in the old drop ceiling tiles the carpet and anything else that will absorb the smell. For a resort, it smelled like the old roadside motels of the 70s. 4 of the 5 lamps I turned on I had to jiggle the lightbulb and jiggle the switch to get them to work. Our children are grown, but if you take a look at the picture of the stove, all the push buttons for all the burners easily reachable by a toddler, right on the front. As you can see even the blinds did not work. The WiFi is included but is as slow as it gets. The only thing positive I can say about the room is that the windows did open so that we could receive some fresh air from the smoke infested room. This room was $270 for the night, I would still be giving it a two star if it was $89! As far as staying here, you make your own decision and suffer the consequences.

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay at the Naswa! We originally had booked an Air BnB up the road, which turned out to be awful and we couldn’t stay there so we went searching for a new place to stay. A local recommended the Naswa! The folks at the front desk were very nice and accommodating, and were able to get us a beach front cottage at a very reasonable price, especially for everything that was included and on such short notice! We enjoyed walking right out the door of our cottage to lounge on the beach and swim in the lake. We watched the sunset from the screened-in porch. We absolutely loved that we could also walk right over to the beach front bar and grill and have delicious drinks and food by the water. The restaurant on site is phenomenal as well. Truly some of the best meals we’ve ever had. Rayon was our server for a couple of our meals and he was wonderful (all of the servers were but he was our fave!) The cottage was clean and comfortable and exactly what we wanted. We will absolutely be back!

Stayed in cottage C21 (Teal color) from July 2-6th 2023. I spent a little over $2k for the holiday rates/cottage rates. The curtains were so thin that light from the other buildings were blasting through so it was hard to sleep. However I contacted the front desk and they sent down maintenance to replace the curtains. They also had to replace the electric stove as that stopped working a day into our stay. Also this cottages kitchen light also stopped working. Possibly an electrical issue- was not the lightbulb- We love the NASWA overall, this is our second time staying with NASWA. Food is good, and the place is convenient and fun for the kids and great for family time. I probably will not book that particular cottage again considering the price. Otherwise the maintenance and housekeeping staff were fantastic and friendly, love the Nas-Bar always great music and fun. We will look into booking a different cottage next time in hopes for a more updated space for that price.

A few of us ladies stopped by yesterday after a glorious weekend at the Anchorage. As usual, the Naswa treated us right! They kindly seated us a few minutes early outside at the NazBar, and tended to our every need. Our server was personable, timely, and spot on with everything we ordered. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, with a light lake breeze offering us the ideal climate for an early lunch. The food came out promptly, and exactly as requested. (I actually had my first fish taco.) I believe it's the Baja Taco on the menu. Pretty tasty! The NazBar is a Lakes Region favorite for both residents and visitors alike. Go. Have a bite to eat, maybe a cocktail or two. You'll have a great time. Bring your shades, your wallet, and a fun loving attitude.😎

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Naswa Resort from October 5-8. The friendly staff were so accommodating. Our room was extremely clean, spacious, comfortable and boasted a scenic view of Paugus Bay. Loved the Lakeview Balcony with chairs and table outside our room. The beach was very clean and we enjoyed lunch and cocktails beach side with a live band to entertain us. We were pampered in the evening at the Blue Bistro, on site restaurant, where we delighted in a five star dinner and cocktails along with live entertainment at the piano . Fabulous value for the dollar throughout our stay and we will return soon.
