Went in on Saturday 10am there was a small wait for a party of 4. A young gentleman greeted us. We said we didn’t mind sitting at the counter as there was a few open dirty spots. A young girl said she would clean us 2 spots. I had to ask her to wipe the eggs off both seats. We sat for at least 5 mins with 3 of the servers going behind the counter to make drinks. One girl was standing there sipping her water, figured she was the busser. She then looks at us and asks did you get any drinks yet? I said, no and just looked at our placemats with the plastic baggie of plastic untensils, the drink station is right there so clearly we had no drinks. So she pours an orange juice and gets a cup with a tiny bit of ice and fills up the cup right in the sink they wash their hands in. Whatttt??? Gross. We sat maybe 5-8 mins more and 2 guys who sat just after us turned around and asked if someone could take their order, it was the same girl. She said oh you want to order??? There were only 2 other men seated at the counter and ordered, I think they were regulars. We left $3 for the juice and left. Horrible service, bad vibe… the man who greeted us seems like he had his act together. There was no “we will be right with you” or anything to acknowledge us. Seemed like enough staff for the size dining room. I’m pretty sure we can do away with the disposable plates and cups now a couple years...
Read moreThis used to be Donna Jean's diner which was amazing! We've been gone from the area for a while and were looking forward to come back to what we remembered.
The new restaurant is totally sub par from the old one. All of the dishware, including the coffee mugs, utensils , and plates, are all disposable, which gives it a very cheap feel and minimal effort feel. The food is not anywhere as good as it used to be, except for the pancakes (which were still enjoyable), everything else to eat was blehh at best.
Unfortunately, this is the end of a great experience we had for over 20+ years at Donna Jean's and now have to find a new breakfast place.
We just wish the new owner didn't cheap out on everything, including quality of food and quality of experience. I mean, if you don't even want to spend the money on a person to wash your dishes and not leave tons of waste, then what other things like ingredients are you cutting corners on?
Sad to see a great place go, but we won't be back unless serious...
Read moreThis place is a gem in the rough. We found this place near the rotary in new hampshire. It's it's right across from the marina and you can see the boats going out in and out all day. They have a very basic breakfast menu. Everyone will definitely find something that they like. Our waitress was very very good. She's very attentive and came back to the table a few times to make sure you're all right. It was almost like you're eating at home with someone was cooking for you. One of the things that was really nice on their menu that have not had any years as they serve Texas toast. It was a nice addition to their meal. One of the huge differences that this place offers versus other breakfast places in the area is that the breakfast was really inexpensive. For example the offer a cheese omelette with home fries and toast for $8. If you have a big family or you're on a budget this will definitely be a place I'd...
