Merrell's Furniture 1 — Attraction in Lafayette

I recommend NOT spending your money at this furniture store!!! The staff is VERY rude and are not helpful at all. On my first visit to the store, I was not greeted by any representatives and when I asked a question certain workers acted as if they did not know what I was talking about. I did not give them a bad review at first because I thought maybe they were having a bad day. On my second visit, it was the same treatment, horrible attitudes and if I asked a question they would leave me with no answer. Lastly, the policy on purchasing and holding furniture is not smart because I wanted to purchase a piece of furniture two weeks ago (due to travel) but the policy at this furniture store is, you only can purchase furniture a week in advance from the initial pick up date if needed to be kept at the store. My thing is if I already purchased the furniture, I do not understand why the furniture cannot be picked up when I need it especially if I’m traveling from another state (all this information was told to the receptionist as well). Once I officially arrived in Indiana, and went by the store the second time to see if the piece of furniture was still there, it was sold. Due to this policy I was not able to get the furniture I wanted. Once again I do not recommend anyone spending their money at this furniture store! I will give them 4 stars. For a few reasons. They have a wide variety of furniture with so far good quality. I simply love my dresser and mirror that I recently purchased. I had it delivered and installed in less then 30 mins. It was excellent: the delivery and customer service the deliverers gave. But, with me being a single mom on a fixed income I do have to purchase the set a piece at a time so of course I will have to pay for delivery each time I purchase a piece to the set. When i went up there to get the next piece to the set the receptionist there was different from the last receptionist that gave me the excellent service. She seemed new to working there. She barely knew the system process and on top of that they had no delivery drivers because I'm guessing someone quit. So she claimed being "under-staffed". I really like the quality of furniture they sell at a very low price than their competitors but they lately have been slacking on their customers. So unfortunately I declined my own purchase because of this issue. I NEEDED DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION that they couldn't provide at the time. I came to merrells as my cheap Amazon couch of 1.5 years decided to fall apart. My partner and I decided to check merrells out as it looked like they had good prices online. We went into the building and were taken aback about how cool and eclectic the furniture displays were. The fact that they are located in an old school house gives it so much charm. It was a cool place to visit, even if we didn’t buy anything. Me and my partner looked around, and sat in EVERY couch without being bombarded by the employees (just a smile) until we were ready to purchase our dream couch. The couch is fantastic quality and was an amazing price. We did all of this in 30 minutes, making this the most bearable couch shopping could be, and had our couch same day. I 100% recommend this shop and will be coming back again! Also it’s a bonus that this is a small family run business (fun fact almost 60 cents of every dollar you spend at a small business stays in the community, compared to the 10 cents that would stay with a...
