I had a return of a number of small items. I had my receipts. The items were purchased the day before in Lafayette from Marshall’s Home Goods. and TJMaxx. - which is where I live. I work in Lake Charles. I got off work at 8:30 and drove to the Marshalls. They told me I had to return the items to TJMaxx Home Goods. - they could not take them back. I drove to the TJMaxx Home Goods and arrived there 15 minutes prior to closing time. They were not happy to see me - it was obvious they were ready to go home and a return that required a conversion as they termed it was not something they wanted to be bothered it. One associate named Dave who worked on the TJMaxx side was very obvious with his disgust and tossed the items in the basket and walked off. I have been an avid TJMaxx and Marshall’s fan for years. I shop there regularly for my personal items as well as the items I use to stage furniture in my small business. I purchased the items I returned to stage a large farmhouse table that seats 10 and an antique Secretary. I decided to go a different route and knew I would purchase the items at your store when I had the time to shop and pick them out. I won’t be setting foot in your store ever again. Your associates have no idea what real customer service is. I’m an Area Manager over 10 locations. I teach my managers that we don’t close until the final customer is served. We welcome business because it’s our life line. Perhaps some additional training is needed in...
Read moreMy mom & I like stopping here every once in awhile just to browse home goods. Overall, it's okay. The way the shelves are close together and often times piled in a messy manner often gives me anxiety quickly after arriving.
Location: same area as prien lake mall. No connection to the mall though- separate store. Plenty of parking.
Atmosphere: bright, congested, messy shelves, close quartered aisle. Often feel like I'm in the way of other shoppers. Quick check out process.
Service: overall ok. I've seen a few people stocking on the floor but never interacted. The cashiers are usually nice. If there is a price issue they will have to call a manager, and usually they won't side with the customer.
Items: blankets, furniture, flower pots (with no holes), holiday decor, pillows, bathroom items, pet supplies (not pet food), kitchenware, tabletop and wall decor, picture frames, breakables, mugs and cups, storage, snacks and dried foods (ie pasta), etc. Tj Maxx side has clothing and luggage.
Price: it's ok. Does seem like a markdown from a typical store, but sometimes even then I often don't buy the item. For example: $20 cookie jar, $12-16 blanket, $4 cup, $5 pasta, etc.
Overall, not a bad store if you are looking for decently affordable decor or gifts. I just wish the store was spaced out more and shelves didn't feel...
Read moreI had to bring my 14 yr old Grand daughter to T.J. Max, bcuz we had shopped most everywhere, except there. She found nothing that was actually age appropriate for her yearly Christmas band concert at school. We walked in, and of course, we were having a hard time finding a Christmas looking dress. A lady named "Ms. Charlie", that works for T.J. Max offered to help us. In less than 10 minutes, she found a pretty dress that my grand daughter just had to have. It fits perfectly! She also found her the cutest sweater to wear with it. A young man working at the shoe dept. He took 1 look at her dress and said I have the perfect pair of shoes for this dress!! Low and behold, the pair he handed her fit, were plum adorable, dressy, and are perfect fit, and perfect for her dress just like he told us!! I forgot his name, but he is awesome, also. Ask for Ms. Charlie. She...
