First off, let me start by saying, I actually like guitar center. The selection extensive, and the staff helpful. I was going to trade in an amplifier and take advantage of their 15% off with trade in offer. Until I read the exclusions. I can't find anything they carry that isn't excluded. Here is the disclaimer from their web site:

Read moreWow where can I start I haven't been to guitar center and wow I'd say a couple years and they still haven't learned their lesson I came to guitar center with the purpose of purchasing an item and I had the money ready to pay for it along with any accessories that I needed and when I tell you I was going to walk out of there and go home with my items I was going to do wasn't going to put things on layaway or anything like that cash and carry that said I walk into guitar center meal around for a little bit wasn't noticed right away but that isn't a surprise so once once I was noticed and approach and someone was friendly and they said hi from behind the counter I proceeded to explain to the person what I needed what I wanted to do and even had pictures to go along with what I was trying to explain to them the salesperson seem to not understand what I was talking about and wasn't even familiar with the items he had for sale in the store I would say the guy was in his late 20s maybe early 30s maybe very inexperienced and as I started speaking to him about it he even got more frustrated and I tried to help him out he just turned and had a disinterested look and demeanor about himself so I let him go tried another salesperson he connected me to another person he thought would be more helpful and this person just wanted to sell me something and didn't know what he was talking about as well I would not recommend guitar center at least in the pro audio department I can't speak about the guitars or anything like that I always go to pro audio DJ equipment side that said I would not recommend going there I would recommend dealing with sweet water or somewhere else even though Sweetwater is in Indiana and even online and over the phone Sweetwater scene more knowledgeable than these guys I know it's hard to find good help but that Clark Street guitar center is holding on by a thread anyway and I will be surprised if they even last another year it was extremely slow in stores I know brick and mortar stores having a hard time now but these are some of the reasons why they're having a hard time amongst other reasons but this doesn't help if they had good customer service and friendly people and I understand salesperson not going to know everything and be a jack of all trades but you're working in electronic store in the pro audio department and two of the sales people had no idea what they were doing and caught an attitude and had a demeanor about them that they just wanted that whole situation in I would not be returning to guitar center unless it was for something like cables or something very simple that I can get because they're...
Read moreNever thought I’d give one of my favorite stores as a young adult such a poor rating but businesses with bad practices need to be called out. I went to buy a new audio interface as mine is 14 years old and figured I’d make the investment. I knew what I wanted going in so you would think this would be an easy sale for them. Guy seemed somewhat knowledgeable from what I could gather but my issue comes from him offering me a returned unit or one with a damaged box. Damaged box is cosmetic so I think that it’ll be fine, no problem. Spending over $1000 on something someone has returned seems foolish especially considering the unit could have been registered to someone else and I don’t know what additional issues and headaches that might entail. Take the interface home and start setting it up and after 40 minutes it dies and won’t power back on for the next 30 minutes. I get it to power back on but if I’m spending the money I don’t want a unit that potentially has underlying issues and now the damaged box seems to be a hint that it was mishandled and could continue to have issues. I return it as I can just buy one without the aforementioned issues and when I take it back the salesman asks if I want to exchange it for the returned unit he offered me earlier. No I don’t want another potentially faulty unit especially when you have at least another brand new one that I can clearly see on display. The guy obviously didn’t want the sale because he could have sold me that unit and there would be no issue. He didn’t really seem like he wanted to be there and I understand that he probably doesn’t care about me but it’s your job to help the costumer and if you don’t want to be there then find another job. Preferably one where you don’t have face to face interactions. I ended up buying the interface from another place which was my original plan but I was excited to go get it that day instead of waiting for a delivery. I suggest going somewhere else for purchasing pro audio equipment if you have the option. No reason to take the risk going here if you’re spending that...
