I like Marshall's, generally, but this location has very irregular service. I only have had a good experience, maybe, one time out of three. Today's experience left me with a very sour feeling, hence this review. I found a nice pair of boots I wanted to purchase, but there wasn't a price tag on it, and there were no other boots of the same kind anywhere to be found, and to make things even more enticing, these were on the clearance rack. I wanted to know the price but no one was working in shoes, so I went to the cash registers to find a manager. She was chatting away with another person, laughing away, it seemed like she was not quite working. The person she was with told her I was waiting... So she came over, and I explained my need for a price. She took the boys and went to see if she could find another pair like it to compare pricing. After not finding it, she took another pair from the same brand but that were above the ankle. I explained that these were below the ankle and that they werek in the clearance rack. But she said that barring a price tag, she had to go with the higher price, which was clearly double the price. I pleaded with her to reconsider given what I had mentioned but she didn't budge. A manager who didn't make the right decision and didn't go the safe route for the customer, just irked me, and I left with no shoes, and a very sour taste for doing any shopping there. I like shopping at Marshall's, so I'll do so at...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the counter, there was an open station with a person busily attending their work. They kept doing their work, but completely ignored us for several minutes. When we got to the counter, we were friendly (since it is the holidays and we understand it can be stressful) but the woman "helping us" was kurt and unfriendly. She never once made eye contact with my husband or I, and never once spoke to us beyond the "card or cash?" Much less spoke to us politely! Then, we arrived home, and she hadn't put the lid to our teapot in our bag. Marshall's is on the opposite end of town, and fairly hard to get to from our house... not good considering holiday traffic and our own busy schedules. When we tried to call (several times, during store hours) nobody answered. We just wanted them to look for the cast iron teapot lid, but nobody could be bothered to answer the phone. I am going to go back and pick up the lid, but it is incredibly frustrating that any of this happened. I will certainly never go to this...
Read moreI donât know if any manager here has ever interacted with a person before or if they just see everyone as a number because theyâre act like VULTURES. I felt bad for the associate who was helping me check out. I get that they have to ask if weâre interested in a credit card, to which I responded that I wasnât at this time. She (rightly) didnât insist, but the manager did. If I have already said that I am not interested, then I am not interested! End of story! As I was leaving, I saw him (the manager) pull the cashier aside and I felt bad for her. They do their part in asking, but if a customer says no, then that means no. He was also pressuring a customer who didnât seem to speak English fluently to sign up for the card. He could ruin her credit for what, a meager credit card sale? I wonât be coming back to this Marshalls because they donât know how to interact with people. Honestly, it makes TJ Maxx as a whole company look greedy. So...
