This shop is a must visit when in Lancaster.
I’ve been coming here for a few years now and each time I visit there’s always something new and exciting. It’s so refreshing to find a store that supports local artist/indie creators and is unapologetically queer.
They have stickers, zines, miniatures, hobby supplies, board games, Gundams, dice, blind boxes, and so so so much more. You really have to go in and explore for yourself.
What I love most is their Indie TTRPG selection, it’s MASSIVE! If you are looking to bring something new to your gaming group there are plenty of amazing choices. Some of my top picks are Mothership: Sci-Fi horror, EZ D6, The Land of Eem, and Obojima!
If you’re curious about what to try/play next, the staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable. They make great recommendations!
Farbo is located right in central market, (can’t miss the purple door). It’s also a short walk away from the Midnight Oil, a queer owned tea and coffee board game lounge. And nearby is Lancaster Troll Market, an eclectic fantasy themed shop with tons of vintage finds. So it’s easy to hit up all stores in one day. I’m already looking forward to visiting...
Read moreMy SO and i went in for the first time today after our usual trip to market. She had heard of it, I had not. I was so excited to see a game shop downtown. It has a wide range of options. They carry board games, card games, pen and paper adventure games (DnD, pathfinder, cyberpunk type games but with plenty more lesser known options as well), books, minis, all the paint selection you may ever need, gundam, model airplanes (small selection but nice models), as well as some other knicks and knacks (pins, plushies, a dice collection that is pretty extensive and apparently ever growing). I was impressed by the inclusivity abound in the shop as well.
The owner was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and very keen to helping recommend things. Usually events would take place there but COVID has put that on pause. I look forward to when they can finally have events again. I'll be sure to pop by and join in the fun.
If you enjoy board games it's a great place to stop in and shop. Support locally...
Read moreI'm not sure how you can be in operation without being ADA compliant? I work with americans with disabilities as well as being a disabled American myself and I try and find them safe places to play games like warhammer, and D&D and its really annoying and heart breaking I can't include this shop. I would recommend people check out Owl Central Gaming for a safe place to play that has plenty of room for wheelchairs, crutches, and other physical disability aids. I am sure the owners of farbo are nice and not being discriminatory on purpose, But why would I recommend shopping online with them when other game stores have better locations and Online prices at other shops are better they have no incentives to buy from them. Maybe it's time for them to think about looking for a new location. Otherwise a sign on the door saying "NOT ADA COMPLIANT" would be helpful. This is just hurtful to exclude people with no physical warning at their location. If A sign is put up I will...
