All the shows are never the same; there is some deep ongoing underground dialog from past stories that sometimes re hash in some shows. Bring Your Own Drinks, or get em from the store next door. Definitely worth the ticket price for 50 min of live entertainment per show. They do two shows a night Sat (and sometimes Friday) Parking garage is right across the street so finding a spot is no problem.

I can’t believe I didn’t know Lancaster had an improv venue. I was pleasantly surprised the few times I have ventured in their cozy space. The whole staff and players were friendly and welcoming. There are just about less than 25 seats or so, but it is a blast and those teams work HARD!

Um, hate to spoil the perfect five... it's time for an outsider to speak up to end the delusion. Tonight I forked over 20 bucks for a series of jarring skits and a brief "finale" of "standup", half of which was appropriately done on with the "comedian" laying on his back.? The package was weakly bound together with the theme of cats and as a sub theme, screaming at loud volumes in the absence of humor: all but a spare few lines of it could qualify as a joke except among the self absorbed and cast synchophants. Clearly the height of the evening was skit work featuring a woman purporting to be a cochroach who put an exquisite sense of timing on display, timing that was offered with an ease of affect and delivery that guarantees she has an easier road ahead in performance. Who doesn't love a south philly cockroach from the 700 level? Enthusiasm in the gang was abundant, clearly clobbering crisp writing, spur of the moment retort, or tight conceptualization for the prevailing attribute award. Despite the loud forced laughter of an over the top creative director I am interested to try again, but only for a true improv session, as I'd like to figure out how the rapid fire of improv sessions somehow got translated into an ill used cockroach wandering through a steaming pile of ear splitting kitty litter. Despite this wretched insensitive review, I recommend you try to support this enthusiastic bunch with a visit to an...

One of Lancaster's best entertainment venues. See shows for $5.00. Usually two shows per night. Proceeds from ticket sales buy lunches for children. Lancaster Improv Players, consists of several teams that perform short form and long form improvisation. Short form shows are games based and similar to the television show, "Who's Line Is It Anyway." Long form shows are a series of scenes inspired by a word, picture, story, or other ideation. The characters, locations, and acting is created by the actors in the moment. Shows are on first and third Fridays and Saturdays. Times are 8 and 9 p.m. Shows last for an hour. Currently, the theater is located at 10 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA. Additional shows like Open Improv Jams and Class Shows are scheduled monthly. Check the Facebook Page for updates. Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at the door, if space is available. Classes are offered for actors and improv enthusiasts. Classes include 101 Introduction, 201 The Game, and 301 The Harold. Weekly Drop-in Classes are held on Wednesdays on special topics and are for beginners and experienced improvisers. Personally, I think they are awesome! (Full disclosure: I have taken the classes and am on two of the teams - Parfait on Third Fridays and Improv Rebound Society on...

In 2021, I decided to take an improv class on a whim. Almost 2 years later, I can confidently say that it was one of the best choice I've ever made. I've learned so much and become a part of a wonderful community of people who are as kind as they are funny (so like really kind). My life is so enriched by this theater and it's people. If you want to laugh, come see a show! If you want to make other people laugh, take a class! And if you want to do both, become a member of our community! Lancaster Improv Players, we're making Lancaster a funnier...
