I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the cafe but would like to in the future. I was introduced to Passenger coffee when I was at a different restaurant a few years ago and had hands-down the best coffee I had ever had in my life. When I asked if they had any beans available for purchase, the barista just started raving about Passenger. They only used Passenger beans and she immediately referred me to their website. Their subscription service is amazing. I have tried so many varieties of beans than I normally would have passed on because “I wasn’t sure,” and typically play it safe with a blend. The only bad thing about Passenger is your palate gets use to extraordinary coffee very fast and almost everything else that is easily available tastes like garbage. My only recommendation (if anyone from Passenger reads these) - I would love if I there was more educational information about the coffee I receive each month. Even if it didn’t come with the coffee, it would be cool to have a link, email, etc that I could go to and learn more...
Read moreI really wish zero stars was an option. Do people think good service and man buns is what it takes to make good coffee? Everything that is wrong with the modern day coffee house. Long on form short on substance. If you are looking for someone to politely serve you a cup of suck look no farther. Their espresso is simply the worst I have ever had. It was bitter, sour, and acidic all at the same time. I am not sure if that should even be possible. While watching them make the espresso they did everything they could have wrong. Under roasted beans, non adjusted grind, un tamped coffee puck... they did this silly spiny thing... ugh... un watched shot during pull. I could say similar things about their drip coffee. Its not just that they are serving bad coffee that troubles me its that they are held up as good and messing with the calabration of the general public. Look through my reviews, I am easy to please to a fault. Again I wish no stars was an option and not because if 1...
Read moreI’ve been to 46 of the 50 states. When I travel I visit coffee roasters in every city I stay in and many I drive through. Why do I bring this up?
Because Passenger is one of the very best coffee shops in the nation. I’ve checked. And I’ve never had a better cappuccino.
Great service, world class coffee, baristas that don’t just know how to make a drink but know the why behind what they are doing to ensure it’s great every time, locally baked pastries, good atmosphere. This is a coffee connoisseur’s coffee shop.
In addition the bagged coffee is always roasted recently and is an amazing collection of single origin coffees roasted to perfection.
Note: if your idea of coffee involves massive amounts of sugar and whipped cream, you should look elsewhere as they don’t serve that. Ditto if you want very dark roasts, they roast for maximum varietal flavor profiles which tend...
