NEVER pay for install of a Home Depot appliance. It has been the most awful 2 MONTHS long experience and we STILL don't have a dishwasher. When we first ordered, they indicated they would call two days before to schedule delivery. Instead, they just tried to deliver on a Wednesday during the day when both me and my husband work, so of course we weren't home. When they called to reschedule, they couldn't schedule us until the next Saturday (a week and a half after our original delivery date). So we waited patiently. The next Saturday, a couple guys come to install the dishwasher. We follow ALL of Home Depot's install instructions. We clear the path, we check the pipes and valves for rust, we do everything they ask. The team gets here and they say our valve is too tight. They don't want to risk loosening it and breaking it, so they want a plumber to come in. It's sad, but we're like, "Okay, that sounds reasonable". They leave the dishwasher in our garage and then later that night, we get a call to schedule a plumber. We have to schedule for the next Saturday (because we work). So we patiently wait a week. The next Saturday comes and the plumber has an issue with his van so he can't come an deliver. He asks if he can re-schedule for Monday. Again, we work so we would have to wait another week and we desperately would like a dishwasher now. Sure, we can live without it but we have a 2 year old and 6 month old and both work full time and it would be nice to just take the dishes off our super busy plates and our current dishwasher does not work. So I express my frustrations and the plumber says he's able to come Sunday morning. He comes to install, unpacks the dishwasher and there's a MASSIVE dent in the front, like almost door unusable massive (not just an aesthetic dent). The plumber then informs us that Home Depot has a 48 hour return policy so they probably won't take it back, but that the guys who delivered it the previous week were supposed to unpack it to check for defects and that's something they are required to do as part of their job, but they didn't. So they didn't do their job and now we're going to suffer the consequences. The plumber sent pictures to the warehouse and we started the process of trying to seek a replacement. After many phone calls with Home Depot and Whirlpool, we finally worked out that Whirlpool would send a technician to replace the part but that they wouldn't replace the dishwasher. We felt this was a fair compromise. The technician is scheduled to come on a Wednesday. At this point, my husband decides to use his limited work from home hours to be there so we don't have to wait for another Saturday. They tell us that someone will call us with a window for when the technician will arrive. We never get a call. Unsure of when the technician arrives, my husband leaves around 11 AM to grab some lunch. He's back by 11:30 AM and in that window, they had decided to come (with no advanced notice) so now we have to reschedule the technician. We re-schedule for later that week and my husband uses his work-from-home hours again to be home for it. Finally, the dishwasher door gets replaced. Now we have to call Home Depot to schedule the install that we already paid over $200 for and were expecting done weeks ago. We schedule for Saturday because my husband doesn't want to use his hours again. Today is Friday, and they call and leave me a voicemail that they don't have plumbers available tomorrow (Saturday) so now they want to re-schedule for Monday. At this point, I would have paid my own contractors to install it and it would have gotten done right and done over a month ago. I'm incredibly frustrating, and we will NEVER be ordering appliances from Home Depot ever again. This was our first big appliance purchase since we moved into our new home last year and it has been an awful experience. At the very least, at this point, they should have offered to refund the charge and install our dishwasher for free. Don't trust Home Depot with your appliance...
Read moreI'm giving a 3 star review in hopes that this store will strongly consider reevaluation of its seriously lacking customer service. Our journey was a 2 hour one. My wife and I, in desperate need of a refrigerator the day of purchase came to the store in hopes of a quick welcoming experience. What we got was an extremely long wait for the only person apparently available for making this simple purchase. As we wondered aimlessly after quickly determining the right fridge for purchasing we seeked out someone to help us. The first person we made contact with I said excuse me can you help us, quickly made eye contact with me, said nothing and continued on his way without any other acknowledgment. The next person simply stated he couldn't help and we would have to just wait for the lone person working the department. After about 45 minutes we make contact with him and complete our purchase only to be told they actually had sold the only one in stock earlier in the day. He offered a larger model except we have a limited very specific measured space. So he stated he should be able to sell us the floor model at a discount but we at to wait for the manager Charles. Well, we waited for Charles for about 20-30 minutes only for Charles to decide he didn't WANT to talk to us and sent someone with no answers to walk back and forth between us and Charles for another 20 minutes just to tell us they couldn't sell us the floor model for various reasons. So after being told we could go get a refund immediately so we could go somewhere else, we waited another 20 minutes to be told we would see our money in 7-10 business days. Unacceptable. FINALLY Charles comes over, blames EVERYONE else and we go ANOTHER 30 minutes because nobody knows a solution. I need a fridge today. You have my money in limbo. Finally we are told we can take the floor model home so our food wouldn't go bad and that someone would reach out when the model was available again in a week. Fine. Alicia reaches out and my wife says she was super helpful and that they could have indeed sold us the floor model. But the fridge she finds for us is a few hundred more albeit smaller. End result is we went to Lowes where we found the perfect sized fridge for much less and were in, out and loaded in 15 minutes. Obadiah at the Riverdale Lowes went and brought the fridge down before we paid and offered us a better 5 year warranty which would be comparable to HD except you get the full 5 years after manufacturers vs the 4 you actually get from HD after manufacturers. I give props to Alicia for her customer service and although he should have verified to the sales person who helped ( he tried really hard to fix it) after the immense amount of time spent and lack of customer service by the others we decided to shop elsewhere and received a much better product at a much better price in an extremely fast and accurate manner. Maybe you come here for your building needs but if you want a positive experience in appliances there are way better options out there. Guys, just do better! Customer service goes a long way. Regular customers should be just as important as a contractor or don't offer services to us at all... I redeemed a star for each of the individuals that put real effort in or this would have been a one...
Read moreI can hardly express how horrible this location is. I’ve been to over 3 dozen Home Depot locations due to my occupation, but I live here so I wind up here sometimes in spite of previous experience.
A Keurig Kcup product was listed online as being available at this location, but with low inventory, there was only one left in stock. I called asking if it could be set aside and I would pick it up immediately, this was before 6:30 a.m. so it wasn’t busy. Instead of checking for the item, I was assured by customer service the online inventory had a discrepancy and they were out. I dropped in after work 8 hrs later because the inventory wasn’t changed, and I rightly assumed customer service was to lazy and/or incompetent that the item may actually still be available. In a turn of events, I find another customer holding the item I wanted. I have a store credit from a return, and wanted to use it on this item. Because of Home Depot policies, you can’t use the card online so I can’t order it. Now, if I want the item purchased on store credit, I’ll have to drive 30 miles to pick it up. Obviously that’s not going to happen, the cost of travel would be absurd for such an item. This is far from the first time I’ve had an issue at this location, and I wish I could say it’ll be my last, but inevitably I will be down the street, need one thing, wind up here, and hate it all the more when the store associates are unhelpful, rude, but dishonest, incompetent, lazy, or disrespectful. Each time I have shopped here in the last 5 years on over 2 dozen occasions (I do go out of my way to shop at different locations or simply shop lowes instead because of how poorly associates as this specific location behave) I have been mistreated, inconvenienced, or insulted. I have spent over 10K out of pocket at Home improvement locations the last 6 months on personal tools, let alone material cost for jobs I’ve worked. I don’t usually believe people working in customer service don’t deserve the criticism they often receive, but this specific location is...
