I've been coming here for years and have always been treated poorly by the staff. There has been two exceptions to this, and it was two really polite young men. I will likely never forget them since he is the only person there that has ever treated me like I wasn't an inconvenience for merely being there.
With that said, I enjoy the food, so I come back, despite the consistently rude behavior and consistently incorrect orders. But I went there at about 1:40 am on technically easter morning and had a truly abysmal experience.
I am always extremely polite to service workers regardless if their demeanor is positive or not. I go and I kindly order. The worker taking my order, as always, treats me like I am sub-human. I politely ask for no sour cream which I guess really upsets her and she hands to headset to someone who also treats me horribly, despite that I am being very kind to them, on account of the gratitude I have for them due to them feeding me.
The second worker is equally rude to me. Whatever, this is fine, I've been going here for years, and like I said, I have only been treated politely twice. It's fine. I reorder my food, am again treated terribly, and pull up to the window, which leads me to the reason I chose to write this.
I pull up to the window, where I am, as always, treated like degenerate filth for choosing to be a patron at their establishment. I'm still okay with this. I signed up for this by eating here. This is always how it is. She gives me my $4 drink and returns 15 seconds later with my food, by which point, the drink is empty, on account of it being filled entirely to the brim with ice. I am not exaggerating, I will post a picture of this. It's actually quite comical and would have simply laughed it off if not for how it was handled.
She returns with my food about 30 seconds later, by which point my drink is empty, because again, it is, without exaggeration, a cup of ice. I thank her and apologize for asking, and bring attention to the fact that the ice fills the entire up and asked what she could do about it. She angrily says she cannot help while giving me the most foul look a person could give another. I point out again that the cup is filled entirely with ice and ask for something to be done. She denies me again. Mind you, while this is happening, she is aggressively swinging(?) my food around in the rain(???) at me. This is behavior I would expect from a 15 year old at their first job who has not yet developed manners or work ethic. Not the behavior of a grown 40-something woman.
We repeat exchange this three times and I remain polite and even explain with a smile until she concedes and rectified the situation by giving me a mini cup of sprite. The minis are approximately 6 ounces. They are used for $2 shakes. My point is that they are very small... and this mini fills my actual cup for my actual $4 drink nearly twice over.... because it was so overfilled with ice... And somehow I deserve to be treated like this by politely asking for a refill. The syrup and carbonated water used to make the drink cost literal pennies. It should not have been a big deal at all.
Oh yeah, and mind you, my order was incorrect, as usual.
Like, I had to work when I was fighting cancer and losing my hair and moved away from my loved ones. Not once have I ever treated any customer or client as poorly as I am consistently treated at this del taco. I always treated them kindly and did my job as happily as I could. No other location is this rude to me. This is the straw that broke the camel's back. I will not be returning. I do not leave reviews but this was genuinely unacceptable and will be contacting the franchise or whoever else I can...
Read moreI went to the drive thru around 10:30 pm last night. It wasn't busy at the time. When I pulled up to the window it took 2 minutes for someone to greet me. When they did they said that they would be with me in a minute. About 3 minutes later still nothing. So I had to say hello at least 3 times before someone helped me take my order. Then I had to wait another 7 minutes to get to the window to get my food. I finally made it home and ate my food. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and ate it over a 20 minute time span. Within 15 minutes of finishing it I started to not feel well. I had a massive headache, nauseated, stomach cramps, sharp pain in my stomach, dizzy, lathergic and chills. I took my temperature and luckily no fever. All these symptoms came on quick and all at once. I also was throwing up. These are all possible symptoms of food poisoning. I can't even drink anything because I'm so nauseated and will throw up. I called after hours at 4:30 am to see what to do. They went over all my symptoms and told me to get seen in 4 hours. My doctor office dint open until 8:00 am. Luckily I was able to get fit in after they were open. I saw the doctor and he did a thorough exam to make sure something else wasn't going on. He confirmed that it is indeed food poisoning from eating the bean and cheese burrito. He told me what to watch for and when to go back in or to the ER depending on what symptoms I had and how severe. He gave me 2 different nausea medications to switch between so I can keep liquid down and stay hydrated. I took the first nausea medicine and still can't take the other. It has been 2 1/2 hours since taking the nausea medicine and I'm still so nauseated I can't drink anything to stay hydrated. I called and talked to a manager after the doctor confirmed it is indeed food poisoning so they can do what needs to be done to be sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. I even told him a doctor confirmed it to be true. He sounded nonchalant about it so I'm not sure anything will be taken seriously. I hope they fix the problem. It's not okay to serve food this way. I have worked fast and food before and you learn all the things that can cause food poisoning to customers and how to prevent it from happening. One thing is so simple and I know many fast food workers don't think much of it. That thing is simply proper and frequent hand washing. Luckily I don't work today or I would have missed work. Where I work they are strict on attendance. I don't need Del Taco to cause me to miss work and getting points for it which can make it a step closer to losing my job. I hope this problem gets resolved and quickly and that proper steps are made to prevent this from happening again. Update: I responded to corporate like they asked me to in the response and all they wanted to do was ask information to get them out of trouble. While on the phone with corporate I said I'm not answering all these questions. What do you need to know them for, to try to get out of trouble and not be responsible? To which he replied with I have nothing more to say and ended the call. Also I had to leave work early Saturday and I went to the ER Saturday night. I ended up missing Sunday as well. Where I work I get points for leaving early and calling in. If I get enough points and it doesn't take much I can lose my job. To make things better it happened at a double points time. I did tell corporate that they are being investigated by the health department because of me. I told him had the manager taken me seriously I wouldn't have called but given he didn't I felt it a situation to be taken seriously so it doesn't happen to someone else so I called the...
Read moreI recently visited Del Taco at 2 a.m., enticed by the fact that they advertise being open 24 hours. Unfortunately, my late-night excursion turned into a frustrating encounter that left me feeling both inconvenienced and disappointed. The incident I experienced at this particular Del Taco location was anything but satisfactory.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I eagerly approached the drive thru only to be met with an unexpected obstacle. To my dismay, the drive thru employee told me that they were accepting cash payments only due to their register not accepting cards. Despite the fact that it's well-known that the majority of people rely on card payments in this digital age. It became evident that the establishment's refusal to accept card payments was not due to any technical issue, but rather a lack of willingness to accommodate their customers' needs.
This deliberate refusal to embrace modern payment methods displayed a clear lack of consideration for their patrons, especially in the late hours when alternative options are limited.
Moreover, their decision to operate on a cash-only basis during their claimed 24-hour service raises questions about their commitment to providing exceptional customer service. At 2 a.m., when patrons are often seeking convenient and hassle-free dining experiences, Del Taco's insistence on cash payments further dampened the overall experience.
As a customer, I expect a level of professionalism and a willingness to accommodate my needs, especially during advertised operating hours. It is evident that the staff at this Del Taco location had no intention of providing the service one would expect from a reputable fast-food chain. This encounter left me with a sour taste in my mouth, figuratively and quite literally.
In conclusion, my visit to Del Taco at 2 a.m. was marred by their refusal to accept card payments, leading to a disappointing and inconvenient encounter. It is my hope that the management of this establishment takes these concerns seriously and takes the necessary steps to rectify this issue, ensuring a more customer-centric experience...
