Worst experience I have ever had with a retailer. Wes didn't listen to the requests we made and decided to try a less expensive alternative that looked ridiculously cheap. After that he said he was willing to do what we had initially asked, but lo and behold when the ring came back he had apparently decided to save himself a few dollars by switching out a few of the colored diamonds. We reminded him that wasn't what we discussed. He agreed and then attempted to replace the stones with the right ones. We came back to see what appeared to be a child's craftsmanship. It literally looked like the sto nes were put in by someone that had never made a ring before. They were crooked and lopsided. The ring now looked like a mess. When we expressed our dissappointment he went off on us, raising his voice and blaming us for changing our minds repeatedly. He let us know he had spent too much money on the ring already and he was done fixing it. We were dumbfounded that he was actually blaming all the problems on us. We had traded in another ring with a massive and high rated diamond along with a few of my mother's diamonds so we could afford to make the perfect ring. There was no way this guy was losing any money. We had such ill feelings after the experience that we took the ring to another jeweler to see if we could cash it in to get something else. He basically told us it was worth about a fourth of what we had put into it. He had us look through his magnifier at the prongs and the way the diamonds were set. It was such a mess! It was unbelievable how horribly he had set the stones. I knew it looked bad at a glance but up close was a joke. The ring was unwearable and we had to pay another jeweler over $200 to have gold added around the outer diamonds just make sure they didn't fall out. Yep, that bad. He seemed like a really nice person when we first met him. It's really sad how...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst jewelry repair experience I have ever had. I have a hard time believing that this man actually has experience working with turquoise and silver. Not only did he drip some type of hard glue on the front of my large turquoise necklace but he attempted to repair the crack with BLACK epoxy covering half of the entire surface area. Now it looks cheap and fake. The match that he chose for a lost diamond earring was of far lower value than my original and when I returned it he insisted that the cheaper diamond was mine claiming that he could see lotion on it from the previous time that it had been worn, although I had just gotten it cleaned in order to have it properly appraised to find the best replacement. Also, anytime I have gotten my turquoise rings sized jewelers have always asked if I want it polished, I choose to not get it polished because vintage jewelry is often valued for its tarnish. He did not ask and he polished all of them. To top everything off he was rude and unaccommodating when I approached this issue he went out of his way to make me uncomfortable enough to get out of his shop, only refunding me for my necklace and MY diamond earring sending me off with the replacement.
So in the end I wound up with a black chunk on my turquoise, a cloudy diamond earring that is not mine and vintage rings that were prized for their tarnish that now shine to the heavens and still don't fit properly. Save your jewelry and...
Read moreThis place is great! The staff is awesome. I've mostly worked with Wes Woods on my ring care and I also know him personally. He's a great guy and he's so honest and informative. I had a previous bad experience with the jeweler I got my ring from. I almost didn't get my ring back from getting repaired, and they didn't seem to care. They had it for over a month when I finally decided to demand it back. When I finally got it back, the quality of the repair was unsatisfactory and the size was completely wrong. I took it in to Wes...granted I had to pay more since he wasn't my original jeweler, but it was totally worth it. He only had it for a week, and when I got it back, it looked brand spanking new and was resized to a better fit for me than previously. My ring has had to go in again because my original jeweler's manufacturer made the ring band way too thin, causing it to crack. I was never told by the original jewelers that a thin band would crack so much, but Wes informed me that having a thicker one would help it not break so often. He informed me that he would re-shank it, and also add more to the prongs that hold my diamonds. He mentioned he was surprised I hadn't lost one already. I'm so excited to see what he does with it. Please go into him if you're looking for a ring. You won't be disappointed. He does the repairs quickly and keeps them there on his property. The jewelry is not sent off to...
