Had an all night sleep study for sleep apnea. I explained that this was a second opinion because another lab I went to I could hear the nurses/patients laughing and talking throughout the night (very light sleeper). The guy put me in the room by his office where I could hear him either talking to another employee or on his phone throughout the night. So again, I did not sleep well. There were plenty of other rooms he could have put me in.
This testing was completed at their office on 11/7 and my follow-up was not until 12/12 which seems like a long time to hear results back. I was seen by Elizabeth Tuttle and she said that I only had mild sleep apnea and started spouting off some statistics, which sounded oddly familiar. I was upset because I was told they wouldn't be able to treat my problem even though I am waking myself up snoring constantly. She advised that I go see a dentist, but that would probably not help either.
Mrs.Tuttle left the room and a discharge nurse came in. She asked if I needed anything else and I said I wanted to see the reports the she was reading from. I look at the dates and realize they were from my PREVIOUS test that I had done with Pinnacle. The nurse prints out my newest test and hands it to me. I asked where the doctor's final remarks/impressions are and she says that the doctor didnt finalize my report yet. I requested that Mrs.Tuttle.come back in the room to review my results that I had waited over a month to review. Half an hour goes by and she comes in and says "Well Dr.Evans hasn't finalized your report but looking over the results quickly you still only have mild sleep apnea, still nothing we can do". I left the office in tears.
Later, I called and asked for an office manager. The woman, Pam, seemed very confused that I was told the report wasnt finalized as she was showing in the system that it was. She said she would leave a copy of the finalized report at the front desk for me to review. When I picked up the report I read the recommendations it said 'This study is inadequate to diagnose sleep disordered breathing. Patient should return to sleep center for CPAP titration. Clinical correlation is suggested'. I called Pam back because now I am super confused as to what's going on. She advised that she would speak with Dr.Evans and give me a call back.
After nearly 2 weeks of waiting, I finally got a hold of Pam and she advised that the recommendation that was on the form was an 'error' and that no further testing was needed from me.
Basically this place screwed me around for over a month and I definitely DON'T TRUST anything they told me. Stay far far far away from...
Read moreI was scheduled here for a sleep lab for overnight. I had a private room, with a regular bed. Bathroom was shared down hallway. No mention of showers and I didn’t see one. There was no cafeteria, however fridge/freezer was stocked with frozen TV dinners and ramen noodles, applesauce, cereal bars. Technicians were attentive however they became condescending as it appeared I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep to get the lab. I didn’t know what to expect going to my stay, and was disappointed. Wasn’t “allowed” to use my phone after 11, and was told over intercom to put phone away, as I was texting my husband getting upset I wouldn’t be able to sleep. No paperwork prepared me for dos or donts or what to expect. I suffer from anxiety and had a mild panic attack after trying to fall asleep for 2.5 hours with them “helping me”, consisting of coming over intercom telling me insurance won’t pay if I leave, and I won’t get the help I need if I leave, put my phone away etc. Ended up leaving around 2 am driving an hour home crying the whole way home and stopping to get cigarettes (after quitting) just to stay awake. Not going back.*update-Office manager Sal called to get the details and discussed treatment. Was very apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned. Changing from one star to two stars due to...
Read moreI visited there office for the first time on June 22. Met with Dr. Shingala. He seemed nice and answered my questions. Set up an appointment for a lung function test on the 25th. Also said if my inhaler wad not helping within a few days to please call in and he would give me a new one. Went in for the test on Monday. They were kind of vague about when I would have results. I called the next day to get results. They said it would be about a week. I also told them the inhaler waking me sick and asked to try something else. I called the following Monday for test results and to see about a different inhaler. They said the Dr. Would get back to me by end of day. They finally got back to me on July 3 with new inhaler. But still no results. I have now left atbbleast 6 messages for the Dr and still no return call. I also talked to the office manager and Dr. Still did not return my call. Very displeased with...
